It's an interesting question you have regarding sulpitac and drinking coffee. I actually ran a drug interaction between the two i.e. Amisulpiride and caffeine and there seem to be no interactions between the two. I am unsure why you would ask a question about a medication you have been taking for the last 5 years. I believe you should be able to ask any other questions you may have privately.
Look forward to hearing from you. If you need help with booking an appointment online with me on thi...more

Hello, Sulpitac can be given up to 1200 mg in divided dosage. In the beginning of the treatment drug starts showing its maximum effect and then the improvement is slow. Medications are not magic pills and it usually take some time to control symptoms. Being patient here is the key.
I can understand the problem you are facing. You have to understand what she is doing is because of the illness. She has no touch with the reality and once she will improve she will start taking medications. Conta...more

Dear lybrate-user,
Please do not worry much about the medicines and its uses. Please take them as prescribed and see the difference they make in your symptoms and general quality of life. Some of the disorders need many medicines to treat comprehensively. We call it polypharmacy that is needed in some patients at some time. Generally allopathic doctors make a diagnosis with the symptoms and signs. Then they give the prescribed treatment for the diagnosis. It is not symptomatic treatment in a...more

Schizophrenia and depression-
You have to be on drugs as long as your psychiatrist advise for it.
You should stick to your psychiatrists rescription, dosage and schedule.
Antipsychotics are very specific drugs. You should continue or stop them only on doctors advice.

Hello. Consult a psychiatrist in person. Your mother will require a mental health assessment including investigations (if required) and treatment review. If she is not showing any improvement then either drug dose needs to be optimized or a new drug will be introduced. Thanks.

Schizophrenia is a very complex and difficult disease to treat, even with medication. All psychotropic medicines have side-effects: that is inescapable. But I suspect that you are depending entirely on medication when in reality you need to combine it with counseling or therapy to improve cognitive skills. In therapy you will learn a lot of coping mechanisms and techniques to remain functional and lead a close-to-normal life. You will also learn about emotions and how they can impact your condit...more

Dear user first of all why are you taking medicines, you didn’t mention here if you don’t want to take medication for life time then please wake up yourself, medicines are not a perfect solution for mental health, you have to work on your own, your will power, your mind and thoughts. You are too young. But due to certain reasons if you are on antidepressants you have to take some extra care of yourself. I donã¢â€â™t know what are the circumstances under which you are taking medicines, I want...more
