Hello dear Lybrate user, thanks for intelligent query.
If the purpose of qutipin is just for sedation than it should be 25-50 MG, if not adequate sedation with 50 MG, can go upto 100 MG in some cases.
Amisulpride 400 mg is perfect dose.
All the best.

Hello respected doctors. I have a serious concern regarding my mothers prescription. While ordering medicines online for my mother I had gone through the contents of the medicines prescribed to her by her doctor. The name of the medicine are- 1.soltus 50 2.tetrafol 7.5 mg 3. D venizep 50 mg these medicines are being consumed by my mother since 4-5 years. I had no idea about her treatment as I was a child then. But the real concern is that these are anti depression medicines or medicines for treatment of schizophrenia. Kindly suggest me that can I stop giving these medicines to my mother as it has been a long time she has been consuming these medicines and these have a serious side effect in the future. Please help as I am unable to visit any doctor during these times and I am coming confused as whom go rely upon during such times. Please help and let me know the alternative of these medicines in the form of ayurveda or home remedies? thank you.

Dear lybrate-user,
many medicines in psychiatry are prescribed for different indications. For e.g. Soltus, in different dosages is used for both depression as well as psychotic illnesses and other indications. D venizep I used for depression and several types of anxiety disorders. I would advise against discontinuing any medicine on your own, especially when your mother is maintaining well. I suggest that you have an open discussion with her doctor about your concerns and then take a decisio...more

Dear lybrate-user,
with clozapine 600 mg alone, if you were good, your psychiatrist would not have added amisulpride. Please talk to your psychiatrist and the family member who accompanies you, about how good you were with clozapine 600 mg. By the way, amisulpride must be 100 mg - not 10 mg as you have mentioned.

It's a decent drug. And 10 mg doesn't even produce side effects. Long term might intake decrease your libido and election mildly. Try talking to your doctor about tapering it if you r absolutely fine for a year with the ongoing medications.

Amisant 200 Tablet is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of schizophrenia. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood.

Amisulpride is not a medication for depression. It is prescribed for psychosis. Most likely, you are having depressive symptoms as prodromal symptoms before another psychotic break. Consult your psychiatrist for evaluation and further management. Don't change dosage or switch to other medications without consultation.

Dear Lybrate User, if there is no relief then you need to review the medication with your doctor. Along with medication you would require Psychotherapy sessions as there is always a emotional issue related with anxiety n depression. Thus that case needs to be unveiled and removed or alleviated in order to recover. Medication cannot remove the emotional reason. So kindly act on both things.

Amisulpride, clozapine and certain newer antipsychotics on a particular dosage can act on negative symptoms, which varies between every individual. Combining with psycho-social rehabilitation helps mostly, else medicines alone cannot give full benefits. Despite these sometimes there is no improvement in few.
