I am 21 years old male. While studying in college 1st and 2nd year college I studied well. In the starting of 3rd year, I went to hostel. In the hostel, anyone didn't allow me to study and misused me and they stole my things. As a result ,I got many arrears and I think why they are doing such a things to me. And I often get unwanted thoughts of suicide and I get shooting pains and unwanted shaking of body. I suffered a lot. I also have feeling that someone is watching me and controlled by someone. Then by saying to parents we went to a psychiatrist and he said that I have some mood disorders and preferred medicines such as clozapine etc. Then,whenever I went to hospital he put intramuscular injection that is Invega Sustenna. This is continued for 1 year. Due to these medications I have side effects such as dry mouth, weight gain etc. I get dreams about the friends who misused me. After taking these medicines I get unwanted thoughts but not frequently as before. How to get complete rid of unwanted thoughts? Can I stop taking medicines? Whether the side effects will go away? If not there is a solution in Ayurveda?

My Son 24 years, early very shy, and fear to face any groups, even driving, we have consulted many psychologists and psychiatrists, mostly diagnosed that avoidance psychology & depression, around 2 years of treatment mood improve medicines plus scholar talks, no changes, while these days last Dec 2017, suddenly started a hearing sound his throat & psychiatric hospital admitted, first day loosed his memory, while 2 days was violent shouting with ugly words he never used, psychiatrist found schizophrenia due to avoidant physiology strong, many medicines was resistive for him, now Clozapine 200 mg, plus Aripiprazole 10 mg while this medicine, involuntarily muscle movements and epilepsy symptoms showing, now taking Valprol CR 300 twice a day with above medicines, present he is laying and stay at home only, no moving out or any activity, any contacts care of these type patients to bring them social active? My mom is suffering from depression and anxiety since 4 months and we consulted a psychiatrist who gave relicalm plus 5 mg, olimelt 10 mg for 2 months. thereafter she gave n citi 500 mg, relicalm plus 5 mg, vitalax and skizoril 25 mg for 2 months. But the issue is my mom is not getting sleep and she is getting frequent body pain because of this medicines. So we changed the doctor and now she is being given stalopam 5 mg, sizopin 25 mg, etilaam md 0.25 mg. Now she is getting sleep but she is constantly feeling drowsy and very weak. She is having too much anxiety and restlessness and now my mom has become very weak and suffering very much as she is not able to bear the medicines also. Can anyone knowledgeable help me out as to what kind of medicine is good for my mom. Since it seems like medicines do not go to the root of the issue and just induce sleep so that mom doesn't get anxiety. Pls help me whether ayurvedic medicines are good or physiotherapy so that my mom will not suffer due to medications.

I am 60 years old with depression, anxiety and schizophrenia since 1987. Recently, I am put on nexito 20 mg 1-0-0 for depression/anxiety and fluanxol 1 mg 1-0-0 and 3 mg 0-0-1 and sizopin 25 mg 0-0-1 for schizophrenia. I am also put on clonotril 0.25 mg 1-1-1 for anxiety and panic attacks. I am also prescribed pacitane 2 mg 1-1-0 to ward off the side effects of fluanxol. There is a lot of relief. For your information, I am diabetic (since 2007) and asthmatic also (since birth). My queries are as follows:- a) is fluanxol contra-indicated to diabetic and anti- asthmatic drugs? For diabetes, I am on glyciphage 500 mg 1-0-1 and deriphyllin retard 150 mg 1-0-1 for asthma. Sugar content in blood is within normal limits. B) recently I have shown signs of chest heaviness and am feeling uncomfortable. Is it due to fluanxol? Please answer point wise and for your information, these queries are for general information and also as a second opinion and not as a consultation. Please reply point wise without missing out a single detail as I have got great faith in you. Looking forward for your reply at the earliest. Thanks.

B. Heavyness in chest can be due to asthama or any other physical factor

Sir, My elder daughter, age 24 years is a patient of schizophrenia and is under treatment at PGI Chandigarh for the last 10 years. Presently she takes clozapine 200 mg single dose daily. Her problem is somewhat controlled but not totally cured. My younger son aged 17 years ,who is presently studying in class 12th (Non Medical stream) is quite intelligent and is presently taking coaching for Joint Entrance Exam of Engineering stream. His problem is that while he is quite at ease with Maths and Physics, he does not fare well in Chemistry. In weekly coaching/school test he does not fare well in Chemistry. Whenever, his results are out he is quite upset and gives up studying other subjects also. He does not want to go school/coaching institution and quarrels with his mother. When scolded for this, he becomes abusive and makes illogical arguments. However, after some time all is normal and he agrees to go to school/coaching institution . He does perform well in studies but again he is not consistent with his studies for the reasons mentioned above. Sometimes he is so optimistic that he he boasts of cracking IIT exam. But gives up easily when confronted with non performance. His lifestyle is somewhat similar. Sometimes, he cares well for his outlook, dress etc. But on another occasion, he does not care about his personal hygiene also. This issue was also discussed by me with Consular of my daughter at PGI Chandigarh, who asked me to bring my son for check up as soon as it is possible, but the problem is that my wife differs with me and says that our son has no psychiatry problem and it is just a behavioral problem and that would subside with the passage of time. She also fears that taking our son to PGI Chandigarh would make him dependent on medicines (with side effects) life long , as is the case with our elder daughter. Here in this context, I would request you to kindly advise me the right course. Thanking you.

I am shaik ismail from visakhapatnam I think I misdiagnosed as schizophrenia .it han been 3 years when it started .before 4 years I am normal and im school topper used to over study in the mid of night and severely sleep deprived .next after few days I became calm not talking to anyone habituated for overstudy and some problem started like reduced functioning of brain and sometimes felt like brain stopped functioning in the middle of time upto 30 minutes became very worried not able to read hand shivering while writing and again started functioning .marks severely decreased .then consulted psychiatrist gave amisulpride then after public exams started risperidone &amisulpride ,brain functioning slowly got reduced, one day forgot to take tablets. Then suddenly everything stopped ,my feelings gone ,cognitive ability gone, thoughts stopped, memory reduced, imagination stopped, cannot understand books, this continued upto three years now. I tried all antipsychotic, antidepressants,ect ,combinations nothing worked. I think I am misdiagnosed .can you tell me what I have .i think this is neuroleptic induced deficit syndrome .now what to do .also clozapine monotherapy please tell me whether I am misdiagnosed ,i have negative symptoms of schizophrenia (doctor said. Is this neuroleptic induced deficit syndrome. Or schizophrenia I also think I have dopamine deficiency. I used risperidone, olanzapine,clozapine, quetiapine,lurasidone, blonanserin,amisulpride, ziprasidone,aripiprazole, and ssri ,snri, bupropion many more nothing worked. All your symptoms are symptoms of schizophrenia. In schizophrenia, there is dopamine deficiency. All the tablets that you have taken are to correct that deficiency. I am 57 years old, asthmatic, diabetic with psychiatric problems. I am taking ayurvedic treatment for asthma and Theo-asthalin 1-0-1 as a backup. I also use Asthalin inhaler and Budecort inhaler regularly and hence the attacks are under control. For a mild attack I use Albutamol tabs 1-1-1 for three days and I get relief. If there is an acute attack, inhalers do not work. Then I use a nebulizer with Asthalin and Budecort respules and get good relief. If there is an infection, like having fever, then only I rush to a doctor, who will put me on an anti-biotic (azithromycin 500 mg 1-0-1 for 5 days), bronchodilator syrup, a de-constant and paracetamol for fever. At the present moment, I am free from attacks even though the weather in Bangalore is un-predictable. Due to the history of 57 years of asthma, my lungs are not functioning to its full capacity and hence I feel doing breathing exercises a bit tiresome, even though I am on it. During an asthmatic attack, I usually sweat, probably due to the fact that enough oxygen is not supplied to my body. Once, the attacks are controlled, sweating disappears and I will be able to do my day to day duties without any problem. But this malady has certainly made me handicapped and my moments and activities are restricted. Ayurvedic medicines are of great help to me. Coming to my psychiatric problem - I am having Depression, Anxiety and Schizophrenia. For depression cum anxiety I am taking Venlor XR 150 mg 1-0-0, Mirtaz 15 mg 0-0-1 and Clonazepam 0.25 mg 1-0-1. The symptoms are under control. For Schizophrenia I am taking Sizodon plus 0-0-1 and Sizopin 0-0-1. The symptoms are under control. There is a certain relationship between my asthma and my psychiatric illness. I get asthmatic attacks usually when I am disturbed and depressed. This is due to the fact that I lost my mother at an young age and was brought up by my grand father whose death in 1986 meant a trigger for asthma. Once, I took psychiatric treatment in 1987, the attacks became less frequent. Is my asthma psycho-somatic in nature? Please advice. Do the above mentioned anti-psychotic drugs trigger an attack and which of them are habit forming? Please confirm.

What is the first line treatment plan for negative schizophrenia without any hallucination and delusion, specially the symptom calls evolution. Is amisulpride is good for unproductively in negative schizophrenia? I'm taking 100 mg amisulpride at night as prescribed by my psychiatrist.

yes amisulpride is the drug of choice for negative symptoms, but it may not act for many also.In that case it has to be judiciously used with other medications and attempted to bring the negative symptoms under control.

Dear,
all your daughter's behaviour are due to schizophrenia. Some persons like your daughter becomes treatment resistant. So clozapine is prescribed. The psychiatrist will increase clozapine slowly to the required dose. Cbt can be add on but not the sole treatment. It needs a series of regular homeworks.
