Consult the treating Psychiatrist before doing anything as not tablets retain their bioavailability after being crushed. The amount of medication available within the body may reduce if it is crushed and mixed with food items. Consult the treating Psychiatrist for alternative medication which is orodispersible or mixes with food.

Some patients require Trihexyphenidyl some do not. Its better that you discuss its need with your treating Psychiatrist. As far as lifetime treatment goes your treating Doctor must be knowing your course of illness in past 20 years and so it's best that you go with his advice regarding the type of medicine as well as the dose.

Yes it will definitely have an affect on functioning she need to take medicine regularly. Sizodon has risperidone in it. There are long acting risperidone injectables present which can be given once in a month. They are advisable in person who are not compliant with medication.
