My father aged 64 years having bph with prostate enlargement volume is 100 cc he is not living with me. But due to current scenario I cannot go to him for treatment. I want to ask that if we postpone his surgery by 2 months then there will be no risk? Please guide me.

Yes you can delayed surgery. Just continue medicine for it like urimax or silofast which is going on I guess.

My dad is diabetes patient. He use to go many times for urine in night time.(frequent urination more than 4 times). Not able to sleep due to this problem. We consulted the doctor. He suggested silodal D8 combipack for 45 days course. He had 5 tablets till now. Still no effect. Please suggest me any other tablets. He is 70 year old. Sugar level is normal. He is having tablets trilosar 12.5, ecosprin gold 10, for heart related (he had angioplasty operation 4 year back) lodus 5, glylup M, for sugar control. Pls suggest tablets that control frequent urination in night.

Get his Urine routine/microscopic and culture sensitivity, blood sugar gasting/pp and consult a physician who may refer him to a urologist if every thing comes normal, to frole out prostate enlargement.

Hi doctor, I had taken pill mesopril kit (combipack of mifepristone and misoprostol tablet, this medicine was suggested to me by doctor only that's why I took it) on 19th of august for abortion. At that time I was 3 weeks pregnant. On 20th of august bleeding and pain started, and I had heavy bleeding for one week, then it slowed down after 2 weeks, but now it has again started to bleed and still tissues are coming. My doctor has suggested to do ultrasound and if there are still remains then I will again have to eat mesopril kit 5 tablets. So I want to know if it is safe to eat it twice within one month? Also doctor says that cleaning will be done if then also it does not come out. What is the procedure of this cleaning? Please guide. Thank you, Lybrate user.

Hello dear, this kit show different results always.
I would advice you to go for ultrasound to know about left tissue and go for cleaning process.
Because if tissue is left for long time it may result in infection.

I sought the advice on the following recently. "Ultra sound of KUB reports Prevoid 350 cc, I Post void: 81 cc and II Post Void: 16 cc / Prostate: 25 cc. Enlarged in size. What does it indicates? Is it Grade I Prostatomegaly? Is it normal? Or any medicine to be taken" I thank you very much for the advice of various doctors suggesting to consult a urologist. Urologist opined it as Grade I Prostatomegaly. Urologist suggested to take medicine named Rapilif (Silodosin) 4 mg for a few months. I wish to know the effectiveness any interaction with the medicines I am taking. I am presently taking the following medicines. MetXL 12.5, Rosufit 10 mg, and Remylin D. Thank you once again.

Hi, I am suffering from enlarge prostate problem. Sonography report on 12.07.18 is prostatic volume appr. 22-23gm. Bladder volume 151ccpost void 13 cc. Incidentally left renal mid cal yx concretion-appr. 2-3 mm. I am taking Silofast D at night. Still I am suffering from urine burning & pain at lower part of stomach. I am also suffering from mild gastritis problem. Can I go for prostate surgery please Suggest your view & precautions to be taken.

If silofast d is not helping you then you can go for prostate surgery. Just rule out stone in kidney pipe with ncct abdomen for the cause of pain in lower abdomen.

I am a 64 years old, with diabetes for the last 30 years but under control as maintaining hba1c around 6.6. No bp problem but takes prostrate medicine silofast 8. No swelling on feet/legs but my feet remain heavy as if the blood has collected on the feet. Kft, lft, cbc, vitamin d and vitamin b 12 are normal and also walk for around 4 kms daily with normal weight. Why my feet remain heavy as if blood has collected on the feet? Any further test/investigation recommended /

I suffered lower back pain for 5 years. Orthopedicians found nothing after mri and various tests. L took retirement from service. Consulted urologist ,he got ultrasound. But he first recommended silofast one tablet daily and my back pain disappeared. Then he operated prostate enlargement and also hernia as he said it will work for ever. Now urine flow is not better as when l was taking one tablet daily as recommended him earlier. My back pain returns. He has no explanation now. I am wondering why he performed surgery when l felt complete relief when l use to take one solo fast tablet daily. What shall l do now.

It sometimes happens after prostate surgery get a fresh ultrasound kubp and post void residual urine
and uroflowmetry then you can have a second opinion all the best.

I have been diagnosed as enlarged prostate gland with low flow of urine in the range of 10. I am 56 years old and having this trouble since 2014. Six months back owing to severe urine infection PSA level was 10, which has come to normal after medication. Again my PSA is 4.210. Earlier since Mach 2018 I am taking Silofast, which has been changed to now Floral 10 mg. Urologists is advising of removal of prostate gland now if urine flow does not improve after one month. What is your opinion? What will be sex life after removal of prostrate gland? I am having no blood pressure and sugar.
