Hoarsness of voice may be due to another pathology involvong nerves or lymph nodes .it may also be due to fungal infection .however chances of being the same are very less. Kindly take appointment for further clarification.

Yes in a recommended dose it is quite safe, when you compare risks & benefits. Some bookish side effects are possible although like possibility of hypertension, diabetes, weakening of bones, cataracts, thinning of skin etc are there.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user,
ideally you should be asking the question to your doctor who prescribed the treatment. Polyps commonly occur in the nose and are treated with low dose steroid nasal spray (fluticasone) usually for 3- 4 months or longer based on individual patient response. The inhaler is used for treating breathing difficulties in the lungs such as in asthma, copd, etc. Since it is not clear from the information you provided whether you have only polyps or there is lung disease as well...more

So long as you are comfortable, pl continue it. In case of any difficulty pl meet nearby doctor. However salmeterol and fluticasone act as long-acting bronchodilator. Both are long acting ics-laba combination drugs. The only difference being that salmeterol (seroflo) acts a little slower than formoterol (maxiflo).
Side effects range from hypersensitivity, altered taste, oral candidiasis, tachycardia to pneumonias.

There is no permanent solution unfortunately. Respiratory disease specialist shall be of your best help. Mast cell stabiliser like cromoglycates nasal spray plus fluticasone nasal spray both twice daily at 30 minutes interval, may be of help for you. It may lessen your frequency of attacks. It may have to be continued for a long time. The doctor seeing you may guide you best.

Possibly he has replaced maxiflo by seroflo or vice versa
both inhalers possibly not prescribed by him. Clear your doubt by asking him again.
