Hi, I am a 28 years old, male, obese person. In 22 years of age, I had a problem started, high bp. Doctor recomment me seloken xl 50 mg + amcard 5 twice daily. Few years back, due to high cost of medicine, I started using generic medicine which is metoprolol 50 mg (for seloken xl 50 mg) + amlodipine 5 mg (for amcard 5). Are these generic medicines fine for me? other than this I started taking patanjali ayurvedic medicine divya mukta vati also.

Sir my age is 26, I am suffering from low sex drive and weak erection, from six month taking bp medicine seloken xl 25 mg, but well controlled for now due to medicine, shall I ask my gp to change this drug or any alternate bp drug available which does not cost sexual problem? Beta blockers like metoprolol (seloken xl) are quite well known to cause sexual dysfunction. Before getting any medicine for that, it's better to change beta blocker.

Yes for time being but tartarate is short acting so till the time you are not getting it you can have it or replace with some other good available salt for hypertension.

Hello there. Supermet XL and stamlo are both anti hypertensives. But they are different. One is a beta blocker and the other is a calcium channel blocker. If you have high blood pressure you may have to take it for life time.
