Dear sir, My grandma have been blood pressure and diabetes since 10 years and her usual treatment or medication are going on. When her legs are swelled extremely ,she reached to a cardiologist. The doctor had written olmesar h 20 (Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg, Olmesartan (20 mg)) tablet for it. Is it safe to give this medicine to a diabetic patient?

Yes it is safe to use these medicines in diabetic. But what is reason for swelling. If not investigated then get her tests done. With these medicines and in elderly keep checking her electrolytes periodically.

I often face with low sodium and swelling in face and formation of water in body. My sodium level is between 124 and 130 and it is not picking up to between 135-150. Is it caused by water deficiency? On stopping hypertension tablets containing hydrochlorothiazide, sodium level rose from 124 to 130. Still I am having the same reading since last three years. What does it indicates?

A patient with hypertension ,that has been taking hydrochlorothiazide for a year with no improvement. Had an ekg of her heart ,which showed an ejection fraction of 55-60%.is it standard practice to prescribe a regimen of metoprolol er ,hydrochloric ,amlodipine ,losartan ,clopidogrel, and nitroquick ,after going to the hospital with symptoms of hypoxemia?

1.amlodepine, losartan and hctz are antihypertensives. 2.metoprolol is usually added for cardioprotection (there must be an ecg abnormality).
3. Nitroquick is to relieve anginal chest pain.
4. Ejection fraction is slightly on the lower side for a young adult. Can be normal for an old person.

Dear doctor eritel 40 and telmisartan 40 tablets are same? neurology doctor stopped telmisartan tablets for few months due to kidney problems. Now i'm using eritel 40 tablets daily. They are same. Sometimes do not suit kidney. You can check blood kidney report if this medicine is used.

I have been prescribed telmisartan for high blood pressure as 40 mg twice a day. So far I have been taking this medication for 4 days now. I have a speech coming up In a couple of days time. Can I take 10 mg Propranolol for stage fright (speech is in the afternoon at 1: 30 PM) and skip a dose of telmisartan in the morning or can I take both?

You cannot substitute telmisartan with propranolol and you need to take both drugs if needed . However I do not advise using propranolol for stage fright which you need control by m calming mind

I quote from a reputed medical website "in patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis or renal artery stenosis ,(arbs) like telmisartan may reduce renal perfusion to a critically low level. Hence I am worried whether I should continue having telmisartan 40 mg twice a day to keep my blood pressure under control, or think about some other treatment.

renal artery stenosis is a rare disease mostly of old people. Rarely in young women. Unless you have been diagnosed as renal artery stenosis dont have to worry about it.

Hi Doctor, I am 34 years old and taking BP medicines from last 4-years. Some time I feel heaviness in my chest and I feel breath less when I take stairs. Presently I am taking sartel C 40 mg in morning and cilacar 10 mg, arvast F10 in night. I have not consulted any doctor from so many years and taking the same medicine since then.
