Try rosuvastatin after consulting your doctor.
Avoid trans fatty acids. Dalda ghee vanaspathi
take plenty of vegetables and fruits.
Take your heart for a walk every day. Exercise is a must to lower your cholesterol.

Clopidogrel is thinner and any thinner has side effect of possible bleeding. But prescribing doctor compares advantages v/s disadvantages keeping history, examination findings, reports and stage of life and decides to give or not give. As everything in life has advantages and disadvantages both and to get advantages one must accept possible disadvantages. That is why examining treating doctor comes into picture.

Hello thanks for the query.
From the details given it is clear that your tgl and vldl both are high. But lipids are quite fine. Usually now a days unless tgl go very high fibrates are hardly used. Since you have been prescribed the same along with rosuvastatin, please continue the same for a few months and check lipids after 6 months or so. You have only mentioned the tsh level, there is no info on t3 & t4. Thanks.

Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. According to me there is really no need to for for any statins. As total cholesterol is 214 mg, LDL 123 mg & TGL is 176 mg. These can be brought to normal level by dietary adjustment and regular exercise. So I do not see the need for two statins Atorvastatin (in Ecosprin AV75) & Rosuvastatin. I would not have recommended either of them As regards rosuvastatin causing diabetes, this is not entirely true. There is a slight increase in the ri...more

Thank you for the query.
As per the history you have provided, you are hypertensive (BP 130/90 mm of Hg, on Tenormin 25 and Stamlo 5 mg), have hyperlipidemia (raised cholesterol) and non-diabetic. It would be helpful, if you would have posted the reprots of the lipid profile. Itis advisable to maintain your Total cholesterol <200 mg%, LDL <120 mg% and HDL >45 mg%. The Triglyceride level should be <150 mg%. Since you have limited walking capacity, you need to modify on the diet. Reduce the in...more

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
For your lipids you may need just a statin like Rosuvastatin 5 mg. There is absolutely no need for fenofibrate, (F) as TGL value is just 197 mg. Unless TGL go beyond 500 mg there is no need to worry about. Properly balanced healthy diet plus regular exercise will be more than sufficient. Thanks.
