Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have gone through the query. It is very general. There is nothing mentioned about actual glucose levels or lipid details. Similarly nothing about what are the side effects. So it is very difficult to give any opinion without knowing any specifics. Thanks.

As per the guidelines and documents, covishield is not contraindicated.
But as covishield, has some (not verified) reported cases of coagulation as side effect so taking covaxin is a better option.
But I again repeat both covishield and covaxin can be used and safe.
Whatever is easily available get it.
Avoid use of unnecessary medications, avoid vaccine myths.

Mr. Lybrate-user, what are present fasting, pp and hba1c% readings? that will give me an idea about what kind of control needs to be established or any additional treatment to be given. Also inform bp readings. Plus looking at your weight and height your bmi is 27.18 kg/m2, signifying over weight. Your ideal body weight should be about 59 kgs. Tis als contributes to improper control due to increased insulin resistance. Weight reduction will also take care of acidity and bp control.

The use of statins in diabetics has long term benefits in terms of decreasing morbidity and mortality. Recent studies have shown that statins increase the incidence of new onset diabetes. The issue became debatable after Food and Drug Administration released changes to statin safety that they increase glycosylated haemoglobin and blood glucose levels. Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance that occurs naturally in all parts of the body. Your body needs some cholesterol to work properly. But if you have too much in your blood, it can combine with other substances in the blood and stick to the walls of your arteries. This is called plaque. Plaque can narrow your arteries or even block them.
High levels of cholesterol in the blood can increase your risk of heart disease. Your cholesterol levels tend to rise as you get older. There are usu...more
