Don't discontinue, go on with same medicine, with the same dose & try to change your diet, take fat free, salt restricted, high fiber diet, check your lipid profile every month, when your cholesterol & triglyceride will come down, then reduce the dose in consultation with a cardiologist. Last but not the least, regular exercise is essential.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
No drug is recommended when TSh is below 10 mU/L. Similarly when TGL levels are below 500 mg, no treatment is required. Only proper exercise and diet control is enough. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user, as I can see you are over weight and derange lipid levels. I request you to increase your daily exercise along with strict diet plan for weight reduction in additional to it you may need some lipid lowering drugs to get under control. Thank you #besafe.

Hi have noted all your details,
A triglyceride level of less then 300 mg/dl needs not to be treated with fenofibrinates.
Asian population have high levels of triglycerides due to our genetics. In case you want to start medication ,start with low dose of statin like atorvastatin, they effect triglycerides also, and are safer then fenofibrinates.
45 min of strenous exercise should be done every day, 30 minutes of walk at speed not less then 5.1 km/hr should be done daily

Triglycerides are manufactured in liver from wheat rice potatoes, sugar jaggery fruit and alcohol. Reduce these items. Increase traditional health foods like nuts eggs butter etc Exercise also reduces triglycerides. Suggest you avoid medicines for this.
