I think medicines given to him are ok. Prevention is very much necessary. Good personal hygiene, avoiding dampness in folds. Regualr bath twice a day if possible, antibacterial and anti fungal soap, avoiding polyfibre or denim clothes, use of cotton is necessary. Because of long duration and location of problem he must visit same skin specialist very regularly for follow up and treatment changes. Even after cure recurrence is common hence continued and long duration care.

Excessive sweating could be due to
1.Anxiety, nervousness
2 Obesity, Diabetes, Thyroid problem, Tuberculosis, Gout, head injury
3.Alcoholism or due to effect of some anti hypertensive and psychiatric drugs (pregnancy,menopause)
4. Investigate yourself to rule out these diseases
5.Avoid anxiety ,nervousness,tea/coffee, alcohol, spicy food, chocolate etc
6.Try some anti antiperspirant lotion or roll on.
7.Consult skin specialist for advice

You have to take both systemic and topical antifungals. If extensive you can apply antifungal shampoo mixed wt water and let it soak on your skin for five minutes minimum nd den wash off. Do it weekly thrice.
