Dear Lybrate user,
its good that your husband is responding to treatment. Side effects are inevitable part of any treatment. However we can find ways to reduce them by modifying the medicines and adding on counselling. Don't worry. Feel assured. Fix an appointment with a psychiatrist either in person or through tele consultation. You will get appropriate guidance.

Dear Atul,
Nice to know that you are maintained well with 1 mg Risperidone. Pacitane is necessary, only if you have shaking of fingers, stiffness of body and too much saliva in mouth. Otherwise it is not necessary for the treatment of schizophrenia.

Dear Atul,
For schizophrenia, you need only respidon in adequate dose. You can go upto 6-8 mg/day. The adequate dose of risperidone will give you sleep by reducing the psychotic symptoms. If close is clonazepam, you may not need it in the long run for sleep. You can take for 1-2 weeks till the psychotic symptoms come under full control with adequate risperidone.

Hi lybrate-user
risnia is used in multiple health conditions with varying doses depending on the diagnosis, age of the person, response to the medication, adverse effects experienced/expected and lot more factors. It's in your best interest if you consult a nearby psychiatrist in-person who can assess you and guide further regarding the need for medication and appropriate dosing and future optimization of same.
I wish you stay happy and healthy!

Dear Shadab,
Nice to know that you are concerned about your father. High cholesterol levels cause ischemia that can cause slowness.
Another possibility is there, please check on it. Is he taking Risdone plus (containing both Risperidone and THP) or Risdone (only risperidone). If he took risdone without THP, he might have got little risperidone induced parkinson. It might have slowed him down. Probably in the native place, risdone plus was not available.
