Tb treatment is for 6 months in most cases. Can assess with xray chest, haemogram, sputum afb and past treatment history whether to continue medicine or not. Need rifampicin, ethambutol and isoniazid combination as maintenance therapy.

Hello.
Your Dr. has given you ipt (isoniazid preventive therapy and Dr. must have ruled out active tb before giving you ipt). Isoniazid prevents latent tb infection in to developing in to active tb (disease with signs and symptoms) as its 10 times more common to get active tb in hiv pos pt than in non hiv pos pt. Pl take pyridoxine with isoniazid. Good to see your cd4 count and vl result. Thanks.

1. Although not entirely clear from the details provided, it seems that you still have TB lymphadenitis. 2. The resolution of the disease will mainly depend on the drug sensitivity, the type, dose and duration of anti-TB drugs and how compliant you are with the medications. 3.
