Dear parents, andial is an anti diarrheal agent, but we are not frequently using this drug in kids. Because,it can cause constipation. Other than constipation, if your child may suffer from infective diarrhea in which bacteria can penetrate bowel wall, then loperamide will give more time to bacteria to stay in your child's gut by preventing passage of stool. Medications. Anticholinergic medications, such as dicyclomine (Bentyl), can help reduce bowel spasms that may cause diarrhea. Of course, anti-diarrheal medications, such as loperamide (Imodium), may be helpful. Treating IBD means reducing the inflammation that is causing your symptoms.
