I hate to say this, but a proper solution always comes after a proper evaluation. In your case, we need to confirm that your diagnosis is indeed depression. Next we have to determine if the headache is a part of depression, some other medical illness or a side effect of escitalopram. Based on this analysis, further management can be suggested. It is possible to treat depression based on scientifically proven and established methods without the use of medicines as well. Take care!

Dear user if you don’t want to take medication for life time then please wake up yourself, medicines are not a perfect solution for mental health, you have to work on your own, your will power, your mind and thoughts. You are too young. But due to certain reasons if you are on antidepressants you have to take some extra care of yourself. I donã¢â€â™t know what are the circumstances under which you are taking medicines, I want to know the whole details about your disorder. But I must say donã¢â...more

Usually first episode of depression treated for 6-9 months and if second episode occurs then that is treated for minimum of 2 years. However if third episode occurs then treatment continues for many years and that depends on many factors like - past history, family history, severity, treatment response, current living situations, family support etc. I recommend you to discuss about your concern with a experienced psychiatrist nearby or online so that thorough evaluation is done and accordingly r...more

Don't stop any medication without your doc's advice.
If you suddenly stop a medicine, the effect from the previous days carry on for some more days; that's why you feel better. Eventually the medicine will lose its effects & you won't feel good.

The most effective solution for dealing with anxiety for me personally was waking up early. I am not a morning person but once I tried this, I was surprised how good this made me feel. It helped me find peace and calm myself down. Having so much time in my hand I could do small things that made me happy and I felt a sense of accomplishment just by waking up early. I feel the most anxious during the night- so sleeping early really helped me tackle it to a great extent.
Meditation was another ...more
