Dear sir/madam, I was admitted to the hospital for 3 days and was under the treatment of a pulmonologist for acute viral bronchitis with severe congestion in the chest and en&t. I was given inj cefuroxime iv bd and levofloxacin infusion bd for 3 days along with anti cold tablets and syrup. By the time of discharge I had completely lost the ability to smell and taste. On having reported to the doctor about this, he asked me yo stop taking anti cold medicines, which I did. Its best 4 days now but I have still not gained back the ability to taste and smell. Congestion still persists and approx every 30 minutes I need to expel sputum which is white in colour. Please suggest me what should do as early as possible.

Tast and smell can take some time to come. Take lot luke warm water and do saline gargles. Some cough can persist due to post viral laryngopharyngitis

I have urethritis, (not sexually active) {might be due to soap action}. Initially I felt burning sensation at the tip during urinating. I took azithromycin 500 mg for 3 days. Burning sensation is gone, but at the opening of urethra there is still some redness & presence of some fluid {discharge is not active, just presence of some fluid (not urine) in urethra tip}. Should I continue taking azithromycin 500 mg for a few more days or, start with some other medicines like doxycycline, amoxicillin, cefuroxime? I am 22 years old male, currently at my parents. Don't wanna let my parents know thus unable to physically book an appointment. Please prescribe some medicine.

I am having oral temperature which fluctuates like 98.2 in the morning which raises to 99/99.2/99.4 in the late afternoon and evening which again gets back to normal after 10/11 pm to 98.4 which gets 97.6 at about 4 am in morning. I have done full body checkup in a reputed hospital and nothing was found, widal test done a month before which shows 1: 160 tire for both o and h antigen, and I have taken ciprofloxacin 500 for 6 days and cefuroxime 500 for 5 days but no improvement in temperature and it remains same. I do not have any weakness or feel anything, what can be the causes?

I've been having fever and chills 3x but I've been okay for 4 days after that so I thought I was fine. Last night it started again out of nowhere so I went to the doctor this morning. Nothing hurts so he can't pinpoint what's wrong with me and just told me it might be UTI. I've had that twice before (diff doctor prescribed me cefuroxime that time) but I told him I don't have the symptoms this time. Like frequent urination or burning sensation when peeing. Nevertheless I said I'd get a urinalysis to check. He said no need and automatically prescribed me the same antibiotics. Should I start taking it or get a urinalysis first?

U might be suffering from UTI. Just get urine analysis and urine for c/s. Accordingly antibiotic can be started and you may require long term chemoprophylaxis as you are having rec. Attacks.

I had a bad throat pain (no fever and cough) and went to ent. He told I had got a bad tonsils infection and asked me to take antibiotics through iv for three days and rest two days medicine. I got better but once my antibiotics got over again my pain came back and I checked my tonsils area looking little red again n two yellow spots have reoccurred. Should I continue the antibiotics for another 5 days. Kindly help as I don't want to go back to hospital in this situation. Thank you. Medicines I took. better plan a blood culture
and meanwhile begin with IV antibiotics again for at least 7 days, for twice a day
gargle with luke warm water
avoid all cold and sour foods
drink lot of water and warm fluids

My Son is suffering from Cervical lymphadenitis, since last one month. Culture test was positive for staphylococcus Aureus. He has been given antibiotics 1.augmentin 5 days. 2. Flucloxacillin 3 days 3. Cefuroxime. Ultrasound shows pus collection and doctors drained it and sent sample for biopsy. Here I would like to take experts advise, if I am on the right path. As still my son is having pus oozing out from the surgical area. Its now 5 days post surgery. Still there is pus and hardened area below the ear.(swollen lymph node) Doctor said initial culture tests are negative and other reports will take a month for the reports to come. Need expert advise on this.

"As" per your clinical history is concerned ligament tear cannot be repaired by taking medication only so do an MRI scan tomorrow to know exactly what is the position now and which ligament is injured, then it will be repaired by surgical methods only.So take those two medications as per your Doctor's advise.
