Need to ask for inputs on TB test report. I got a report stating: QUANTIFERON-TB GOLD GAMMA INTERFERON, PLASMA @ (EIA) Gamma Interferon, Antigen tube 0.60 IU/mL Gamma Interferon, Nil tube 0.45 IU/mL Final Result Negative Is this negative? Do I need another test. Do values look ok?

Negative but this test is not reccomended for tb diagnosis and govt of india have almost banned this test.

Hi Lybrate-user,
TB quantiferon positivity does not necessarily mean you have Tuberculosis disease. It can be sign of something called latent infection where you will be positive for TB screening tests like quantiferon and mantoux but not necessarily have the disease. Whether you have TB or not depends on if you have symptoms of TB like fever, cough, loss of weight, loss of appetite, night sweats. Chest radiograph and sputum testing are required to confirm the same.

My other reports from 2013 were normal (LFT, sonography, bioscopy). I haven't stared any Interferon, Ribavirin or any treatment yet. Please guide.

If there is a rising tiger of hepatitis c antibodies you may have to start anti viral drugs . Consult hepatologist( liver specialist)

Hi, recently I went for general check up. My doctor prescribed mantoux test, golden interferon test, xray and esr. Allah negative quite normal. Except mantoux test. Its positive. So my Dr. said all normal, but due to mantoux positive they prescribed me r- cinex tab for 3 months to prevent from disease. What I am confusing is all my report was normal. Then why she prescribed me to take that medicine for 3 months? Can I take? Or will they cause any side effects? please help me with your answers.

The mantoux test indicate the tb infection and hence the doctor prescribed medicines for tb prophylaxis and the names of the medicines you have not written.

May be you are not trying at the right time, and not following the ovulation days.
So for now on if you have a regular cycle of 28-30 days then do intercourse every alternate day from day 8 of cycle till 18th day of cycle
start some exercise or yoga daily, it increases fertility and take regular nutritious diet.
Also get husband's semen analysis done.

I have got HbsAg reactive with value 3516 iu/mL, doctor start Entaliv 0.5 (May 2018, my body weight 65 kg, My present body weight 58 kg, Are weight loose due to Entaliv 0.5 ?What is my life expectancy? Are anything serious about upcoming 5-10 years or not? Another facts are- HBeAg value 0.28 dtd 11.02.2018, AFP value 3.54 IU/ML, Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) quantitative PCR -Target Not detected. D On 01.08.2018, Fibroscan On 14.04.2018 CAP 214 dB/M E 4.3 kPa, Other report LFT, ULTRASOUND,HbA1C, ABG,Hb, eGFR,T3 T4 TSH, are normal NO IRON deficiency, NO VIT D DEFICIENCY, NO VIT B12 DEFICIENCY. I have HBeAg negative (value 0.28 dtd 11.02.2018 and 0.30 dtd 14.08.2018) and Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) quantitative PCR -Target Not detected.
