An abnormality in dat scan is suggestive of parkinsons disorder. Since you are already on antipsychotics, drug induced effect may have exacerbated that. Your treatment needs major modifications because the psychitaric treatment has a bad impact on and precipitates these tremors and slowness.

My father legs are swelling from few month, all his blood test like renal, lipid, thyroid, liver, cbc, serum electrolytes, everything came as normal, did ultra sound scan that too normal, just found few mild issues in 2d echo, he also diagnosed with parkinson few months back, his left hand shakes and slowness in movement and in past couple of times his bp highs upto 190-200, now its 120-130 max. We did mri brain few mild issues in brain and on medications for parkinson. But for legs swelling doctor advised to take advise with cardio. Here is the impressions: 1) normal sized lv, no lv rwma, decreased lv compliance, fair lv systolic function 2) mild dilatation of la 3) mild ar 4) av sclerosis, no as, mild ae, 5) milf tr - no pah he is presently on below medication tab syndopa 110 thrice a day tab rasalect once at night tab biohomin once in afternoon tab cetanil 10 once in morning tab ecosprin av 150/20 once at night please advise thank you.

Hi Zandopa also contains contents similar to Syndopa. So be careful. Increase Ropark to three times a day and see Continue Syndopa and rasagiline. Regards

Patient of age 68 years, male Problem started 5 years ago, symptoms are:- 1) Started with slight change in speech (slurred, progressively increased- Progressive dysarthria 2) Then year later walking/ balancing disturbance accompanied with fall- Progressive gait imbalance. 3) Upward gaze restricted & marked downward gaze restriction. 4) clumsiness at right hand, dexterity loss at right hand, also handwriting became tiny and illegible (unreadble) little rigidity at right side, movement of upper limb & lower limb is slow at right side 5) after 3 years problem choking sometimes on gulping liquid started, salivation also started 6) constipation & urine control problem sometimes. Has strong urge to urinate many times. 7) Diabetic (but remain control on medication) There's no Memory related complain, memory is good, & no tremors in any part of body. But rigidity at right side is Medicine taking are:- These medicine are of not much help in curbing progression of disease Anti parkinsons medicine:- Syndopa125 (4times a day), ropark0.5 (3 times a day), amantrel (2 times), rasalect0.5, ecosprin 150 (OD)+ diabetes medicine + thyrox 75+ Vitamin E cap Current situation:- Patient cud not stand on its own or walk 2-3 step, cud not able to balance, Fall down, but can walk with someone support. Also feel less power on right leg & hand, and choking while drinking liquid (water) is increase a bit.

As per diagnosis done the medicine being given by concerned specialist is best suited to situation but there's not much scope of improvement it seems. That's limitation of medical science so far.
If you agree, ayurveda medicine may be started which, in my opinion, will stop the progression of disease. But its not a short term treatment.
Vaat nashak medicines are given in this disease. It's categorised under kampvat even if there's no tremors.
