Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the query. Madam blood glucose level 120 mg does not need any treatment at all. It is better if you get an after food (2 hours after taking breakfast or lunch) glucose level, because if that is higher than 200 mg mg (fasting > 126 mg) then only treatment is required.
Another important aspect is your excessive weight. Because your present BMI (Body Mass Index) is 43.33 kgs /Sq meter(Normal < 23 kgs/Sq meter). Which means you are in very morbid (ve...more

As your sugar levels are still on the higher side there is need to change your drug dose like increasing the dose of salts present in glycomet GP that is metformin and glimipride. But do consult your treating doctor for the same. Along with it exercise daily including brisk walk of 20 min.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. Since there is no information on fasting, pp glucose, hba1c%, lipid profile, dietary pattern & extent of daily exercise, there is no way to give any suggestion. Secondly your bmi (body mass index) is 28.65 kgs/sq meter (normal < 23 kgs/sq meter) which means you have an excess of over 15 kgs. This is a major hindrance in better glucose control. Plus I do not understand the reason for changing the medication. Please come ba...more

Whether you should continue metformin or not, depends on your fasting and pp sugar levels. Kindly get your sugar tested and share reports. If reports are normal, you might have to continue, as they are normal cause you are taking metformin. However if they are low, it can be stopped.
Metformin does not cause hair fall.
Check for other vitamin deficiency.
Eat healthy. Follow strict diabetic diet. Exercise regularly.

If only metformin is taken it should be after food. If sustained release tablet is there then od may ok. If not twice a day is better. Side effects are less if taken after food.
