It should, but more importantly you should focus on diet and exercise as well. Cut carbs from your diet, avoid sugar as much as possible, and try to get at least 150 minutes per week of moderate intensity exercise.
If your weight is high, you should aim at reducing that as well.

Hi yes incase of infections, allergies or stress wbc count can be higher. Include fruits and vegetables like orange, pineapple, cauliflower, brocoli, capsicum, kiwi, papaya as they are rich in vitamin c. Have omega 3 rich foods like fish, nuts, flaxseed, restrict salt, sugar and high fat and include onion, garlic, mint, coriander to compensate the taste.

Insulin is a peptide hormone produced by beta cells of the pancreatic islets; it is considered to be the main anabolic hormone of the body. It regulates the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and protein by promoting the absorption of carbohydrates, especially glucose from the blood into liver, fat and skeletal muscle cells.
Low insulin levels in the blood have the opposite effect by promoting widespread catabolism, especially of reserve body fat.
