But the question is about side effects or safety profile. Itopride is comparatively safe, but both are not safe for long term use. Medications should be used for prescribed duration only. If symptoms recurrs after stopping medication you need evaluation once. Along with medications, lifestyle modification is important. Avoiding foods which increase reflux like sweets, chocolates, soft drinks, oily foods, tea, coffee, heavy meals. 2-3 hrs gap after eating food before lying down. Head end elevation while sleeping.
