Deer Pankaj,
Lorazepam addiction also needs treatment along with your depression. Though you have mentioned the tablets name, you have not mentioned the maximum dose tried and the duration of each tablet taken. If it is maximum dose and adequate duration, you will be given add-ons of intractable depression. There are many more that will be added to your antidepressant. Any therapy if added, most of the psycho social problems of depression can be resolved. Your quality of life will improve in...more

First, we need to be sure of diagnosis before commenting on medications. But, at the outset. Does'nt make sense giving antipsychotics and antidepressants considering the doses in which they have been prescribed.

antipsychotic drugs are better avoided in pregnancy.. but due to lack of large studies their side effects on foetus have not all been documented clearly wth statistical precision. However, if your psychiatrist feels that continuation of treatment is more important, please defer planning a family for the time being.

As far as these drugs are concerned these are given only when necessary in pregnancy. As you have not given your medical history in detail it is difficult to say anything. Qutipin 25 is not to be stopped but if you didnot have any attack from past one year then aripmt can be gradually reduced and stopped. But exact advice can be given only after your complete medical history.

Quitipin is an anti psychotic and not for stress, taking alternate days can lead to serious side effects and not recommended in any health guidelines, it is not over the counter drug to be taken as per your wish. Consult a psychiatrist, get diagnosed correctly and take medicine as per his advise and attend review regularly. Your case reminds me of one of my patient who did the same with quitipin and landed in stroke, i.e. Paralysis of one side of body.

Have a positive attitude and go back to your doctor as it requires some patience and some lifestyle changes. Maintain good sleep hygiene (learn about it from the internet ). Learn some relaxation techniques (or learn yoga ). Consider adapting a daily physical activity (exercising everyday can be a very good sleep inducer ). You can talk to your doctor and plan holistic approach in your daily routine. You may require extension of medicines for some more days just to taper it off smoothly. You can...more

Hello Lybrate-User, if you have only sleep disorder I think lonazep will be better but if you have other psychiatric issues you should go by the prescription of psychiatrist as qutipin is used for mood disorders and schizophrenia.
