Good afternoon. Glycolic acid based creams are prescribed in acne treatment protocol usually in addition to other more important acne medication. Whether you can use it or not requires a qualified dermatologist to actually examine you first, since no doctor should or would prescribe medications blindly. Kindly consult one, especially since home remedies have apparently not offered you the desired results.

Darker knees and elbows are sometimes seen in case of acanthosis nigricans. Sometimes due to vit b12/a deficiency. So first of al you hav to find out the cause of such pigmentation and treat accordingly. Other den this, for your darker elbow and knee you can use 0.01 percent tretinoin cream (once daily at night. And ga 6 cream once daily. Plus vit e/ a / b12 (multivitamin) capsules. If not relived with the above measures den you can visit dermatolgist for spot peeling. Thanks.
