Can someone tell me what is the treatment schedule for tuberculosis in india as per who, please don't give me diplomatic answer, like talk to nearest tb hospital or pulmonologist and all. As I had it all .no body is clear regarding this treatment every doctor telling same thing. If one have been diagnosed with tb (test results- sputum for afb negative, hb-10, esr -99, rest all cbc normal, tb gold test - positive) physical symptoms cough lasts for 20 days, fever for 5 days no weight loss, no continues fever, doctor asked to start tb treatment it's been 4 months on treatment, but my question is should we continue with all the drugs as we are on (rifampicin 450, isoniazid 300, pyrazinamide 750, and ethambutol 600,) for six month or there is any change in treatment schedule. please clarify.

In fresh tb case rehz for first 2 months and then maintenance dose reh for n3xt 4 months in most cases if response to drugs good. Pt need review every 2 months.

My father is 54 years old he is suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis and a tyoe 2 diabetes mellitus he took his treatment 3 times these from the age of 52 .first treatment was for 6 month which was not done properly .second treatment was completed with akt4. But his tb was not cured he became more thin, weight loss, evening rise of temperature with hearing loss for past 6 month. And.the third treatment again was done for one year qith the medication of drugs-t.r.cinex450 mg, tcombutol800 mg,t pyrazinamide 750 mg, t.levoflox750 mg, inj.sm0. 75gm im for 2 month, t pan40 cap. Zincovit,t.benadon40 mg,t .janumet50/500 mg .but his tb is again not cured and his body is not supporting now he is suffering from low bp ,diabetes ,blood with 7.4 gram. His food intake is very less and diarrhoea, dizziness,so on .please need a better advice to control his tb and diabetes and his diet.

R/o mdr tb if sugar is not controlled then tb drugs are ineffective. Better to consult a pulmonologist with all records to advise you further.

My son is 3 and a half years old diagnosed with spinal tb. He had recurring fever and localized lower back pain. There was pain in his legs behind the knees and stiffness. He had difficulty walking. His gait was antalgic. His mri showed l5 s1 affected with epidural abscess. Mis bilateral decompression was done. They started him on att 3fdc (pyrazinamide 450 mg, rifampicin 225 mg, isoniazid 150 mg based on his weight 15.6 kg) and wysolone 25 mg (steroid prescribed for 1 month and gradually tapered and stopped at the end of 2 and a half months). After 3 months there was a recurrence in tb which spread to l4 and l3. To make the spine stable we have done instrumentation. Is this recurrence due to wysolone?

Avoid protein in diet .
PYrazinamide induced hyperuricemia.
You need to start taking febuxostat.
Kindly see your physician .

My age is 28, height is 5'9" & weight is 85 kgs. Mujhe backache rhta hai. Tests me spinal TB show hua. Mera treatment 3rd aug se start hua. Jisme maine Rifampicin (R)=450 mg/day & Isoniazid (I)=300 mg/day & Pyrazinamide (P)=1500 mg/day & Ethambutol hydrochloride (E)= 800 mg/day liya. After consulting another doctor on 17th aug 2018 maine dose increase krdi. So from 18th aug 2018, I am taking R=600 mg & I=300 mg & P=2000 mg & E=1200 mg. But still my pain has not gone. I want to you ask about this. Mjhe back pain me improvement bhut kam h.kaafi pain h abhi bhi. Mjhe painkillers lene pdte hn regularly. Ye pain kab tak jayegi? Ya aur kuch h jo mujhe improve karna chahiye. Any tests or something jo mujhe krwane chahiye?

My mother is suffering from renal tb, she is consuming medicine from DOTS, (rifampicin 600 mg & izoniad 300 mg) because kidney patient are not given ethambutol. The problem is DOTS provider says there is shortage of medicine. So can I switch to R-cinex 600? Is r-cinex 600 mg good medicine in comparison to DOTS?

can switch as one the same medicine.TB treatment need 4 drugs for first 2 months and if KFT is normal these drugs can be used.

I had written to you on 11.03.2015. I have been detected for TB of the lower spine on 24th Jan 2015. Undergoing Anti Tuberculer Treatment since 28.01.2015. 24.02.2015 INH was stopped as I had failed Liver Function Test. On 04.03.2015 ATT was stoped as LFT failed miserably, Billirubin Total-1.32, Direct-0.70, Indirect-0.62 SGOT-868, SGPT-582 LFT on 09.03.2014 bilirubin total- 0.4, direct- 0.24, indirect - 0.16 SGOT (AST)-288.5, SGPT(ALT) - 669.3, GGPT-70.3, Still ATT discontinued. Following medicines were prescribed by doctor for one week. S-AdenosylMethionine 400mg 1 tab 2 times a day Ursodeoxycholic acid ip-450mg 1 tab 2 times a day Zevit- vitamin B complex and C with Zinc Sulphate - once a day Now the latest up-date is given below. 16.03.2015 the test reports are slightly better. Total ? 0.89 max 1.2 Direct-0.26 max 0.20 Indirect- 0.63 max 1.0 SGOT ? 91.3 MAX 35 SGPT ?- 225.5 MAX 46 following medicines were priscribed by doctor for one more week. S-AdenosylMethionine 400mg 1 tab 2 times a day Ursodeoxycholic acid ip-450mg 1 tab 2 times a day Zevit- vitamin B complex and C with Zinc Sulphate - once a day Also prescribed the following Ethambutol Hydrochloride-1200 mg-once a day Levofloxacin - 750mg once a day Refampicin - 450 mg - once a day Report dated 23.03.2015 This week again the test reports are much better. Bilirubin Total ? 0.96 max 1.2 Direct-0.42 max 0.20 Indirect- 0.54 max 1.0 SGOT ? 40.6 MAX 35 SGPT ?- 78.1 MAX 46 To continue with all the above mentioned medicines and he added Pyrazinamide 750mg 2 tablets in a day Further he also informed to take all the ATT medicines together after dinner. LFT dated 30.03.2015 Total ? 1.06 max 1.2 Direct- 0.33 max 0.20 Indirect- 0.73 max 1.0 SGOT ? 441.9 MAX 35 SGPT ?- 727.2 MAX 46 I do not know what the Doctor will say tomorrow as I have failed LFT again. Will ATT be stopped again partially or completely.

Your doctor is treating you very nicely.A very close monitoring required.Your doctor will again stop pyrazinamide.Ask him can he put you on streptomycin

you should take akurit in the night at bedtime. only akurit will not suffice, you should add combutol and pyrazinamide to it. Consult online for detailed discussion.

Last 21 July my father takes anti TB medicine continue but back two months he is suffering from heavy joints pain and swelling. He was taking 10 mg omnacortil since last two week. But there is no relief. Now he is suffering with new disease, leprosy. Doctor knows this the side effect of medicine. Now Doctor advice the anti TB medicine fore two months more. Please help me.

What is his serum uric acid. If normal then less likly due to TB medicine. Also joint pain can b edue to other causes also. Why was he put on omnacortil and how his leprosy diagnosed

I am 29 years old 1 year back I had swollen lymph node in neck. I did fnac test and scan. Granular nodules formed on two sides of the neck. They confirmed as tb and I took medicines for 6 months. The swelling get fully reduced. During the course time I had so many side effects fully gastric problem that occurs in chest and stomach. After finishing the tablets arm pains develop. My treatment finished 6 months before but still I have so many pains in my body and I have many joint pains. Now my legs are also paining. One month back I get married and my weight suddenly increases by 7 kgs. I suspect is I suffered from lymphoma. If so then weight gain is possible? then what are the reasons for these pain. Is they side effects of tb tablets?

Had it being lymphoma then it would not responde to ant I tb drugs. Pyrazinamide used as tb drug can cause increase s uric acid which can cause pain. As treatment stopped 6 month back, that also will not a cause.
