Psychological testing must be done to confirm what illness one is suffering from - is it psychiatric illness requiring medicines from psychiatrist or is it psychological problems that need to be treated by a psychologist through counselling and psychotherapy. Psychologist is the specialist for psychological testing and treatment without medicines. Based on reports, psychologist will gide you, what treatment is required.

Hello
For medicine related query try consulting a psychiatrist as they specialise in it and can guide you better. Also try consulting a clinical psychologist for regular counselling sessions for better management of the symptoms.

Dear Lybrate user,
generally one month period is enough to get the desired results, but in some cases it may take a longer time. It depends on many factors like the severity of the illness, age of the patient etc. Better complete the 2-month course as prescribed by your doctor, and then if there is no improvement you can ask the doctor for other medicines.
