Asked for male, 73 years old from Delhi

I am 73 years male undergone ptca with stent to rca and lcx on 30.12.19. discharged on 3.1.20. At that time I was prescribed some 8-9tablets on my post operative visit on 18=1=20my doctor has not mentioned nikoran 5 mg and deplatt which I did not notice at that time but as per internet these two medicines should continue especially deplatt. Is it by mistake my doctor forgot to write and should I continue taking these two or can I stop can you advise as my next visit is on 29th jan till then can you advise what to do regarding these two tablets thanks.

Nikoran is not mandatory after stenting. And there must be some other group of medicine like prasugrel or ticagrelor instead of clopidogrel in your prescription.

My husband age 36 his 2d echo report clinical history .asmi 2017 recanalised hr 78bpm normal chamber dimensions apical hypokinesia normal contracting other lv segments preserved overall lv systolic function lvef 50% early diastolic dysfunction (relaxation) cardiac valves are structurally normal normal sized pulmonary artery no evidence of pulmonary hypertension estimated rv systolic pressure 26mmhg no intercourse clots /pericardial effusion icc normal sized with good pulsation impression apical hypokinesia normal sized lv preserved lv systolic function lvef 50% normal pa pressure ecg was written nsr he was taking juprios gold 10 met xl 25 now Dr. has stopped medicine and just said him to take razel 10/75 his blood pressure always between 110/80 to 130/80 no sugar no thyroid I want to ask are reports ok as he is worried and thinking if anything happen because met xl is cancelled and only one tablet there no clopidogrel is there please help me.

the medicines are correct. Clopidogrel is required for 3months after heart trouble, it can cause bleeding. Must NOT be taken when not needed.

no these are two different medicines they are not same. Clopivas contains clopidogrel and Ecosprin contains Asprin

My mother aged 64 was suspected to have Barrets oesophagus following endoscopy and fnac 1 year ago. Doctor advised diet revision and acid suppressing ppi drug for 6 months. The follow up check up revealed that there is no barrets. The reason for doing first test was burning sensation while having spicy food. Those symptoms have reduced. However she seems to have less hunger and does not feel like having rice like before. Discontinued ppi drug after the 2nd checkup being aware of its side effects even if doctor said it's ok to continue the same. Before the first checkup my mom used to take clopivas 70 (clopidogrel) for 7 years as advised by a heart specialist. Dyspepsia being its side effects stopped it since then. Happened to go through research journals stating that the reason for acid reflux is not excess acid but rather reduced acid power resulting in less digestive power causing a push back of digestive enzymes and undigested food back up the oesophagus. If thats the case will not ppi drug make the issue worse? Her less hunger could be a reason supporting the same? There is no reduction in her weight apart from the initial drop. Should she undergo a follow up checkup? What are the diet recommendations and follow up checkups advised?

Increased acidity is more of a lifestyle disorder... and if person takes good care of his/her regime and dietary regulations then it can be managed even without medicines... PPI are just temporary solution.. and yes clopidogrel and more of Aspirin has the effects...

My suggestion is to go for homoeopathic treatment...

I was taking olmesartan 20 mg 1od & metoprolol 25 mg extended release 1 bd for hypertension. I also have ckd baseline creatinine increased to 1.4. I had a ptca in jan 2015 and on clopidogrel 75 mg + aspirin 150 mg -1od & nitrocontin 2.6 mg bd. My bp was excellent controlled with systolic 110-120 & diastolic 70 to 80 during the last 8 years issue since my potassium was varying between 5.5 to 5.8 during the last 5 years, I was told by my nephrologist to cut arb ie olmesartan 20 mg and increase metoprolol to 50 mg bd while my potassium has come down to 4.9 within limits in 30 days after stopping arb, my blood pressure is going up to 165/96 with 50 mg metoprolol ed twice a day. Since I am a diabetic & ckd, please suggest a medicine to get my bp to a target level of 120/80 .my resting heart rate is between 60 to 75 echo is normal with only grade 1 lvdd. Ecg normal.

Loading dose is the initial medication given at the onset of heart attack, it consists of clopidogrel and aspirin.

There will be o side effects by taking one 75 mg clopidogrel extra. The dose 150 mg is usually given.

For acute stroke tpa is used to dissolve the clot. Or an angiogram is done and the clot retrieved
for prevention of stroke aspirin or clopidogrel is used.

My mother (58 years) is suffering with thyroid and hypertension problems from last seven years. Recently 15 days back she was fainted and became unconscious for 10 minutes. She has the following symptoms 1 Sudden Palpitations in heart upto 170 beats per minute 2 Feeling weak 3 Tremors in hands 4 headache 5 High blood pressure 170/100 6 Breathlessness Previously she was treated by Senior General physician in Manipal Hospital from last seven years. Since her problems are recurring in a short time I have consulted a endocrinologist and admitted her in his hospital to find the root cause since there was no endocrinologist in Manipal Vijayawada. She is under his diagnosis from last four days in the hospital and sir expressed the causes may be Artilary Infillatraion or pheochromocytoma. He forwarded the 24 hours urine collection for analysis. Now the problem is she is suffering with high BP and high heart beat once in the morning everyday for an hour which she could not able to tolerate and when she takes tablets the BP and heartbeat raises further and more she is suffering. after that she becomes normal for remaining time in the day. She took medical 25 (metoprolol) for two days and today she takes Tellzy AM 40 mg (Telmisartan & Amlodipine) but there is difference and she suffered a lot for one hour. The doctor sir is saying that he will start the treatment after the examination only till that time he asked to continue the old treatment which is 1 Early morning Thyroxine 50 mg 1 tablet. 2 After breakfast Tellzy AM 40 mg 3 After Lunch Remetor CV 10 (Atorvastatin 10 mg and Clopidogrel 75 mg) What can I do now since we are not able to see her while suffering a lot for an hour a day regularly? My mother could use stalopam 10 mg tablets?

Some alteration of medicine is needed. If 24 hours urine sample is completed, discuss with your Dr. a long acting beta blocker tablet to be taken 2-8 hours (late night or very early morning) before the time of fast heart beating symptoms. Best wishes.

I am 70 years old having hypertension and diabetes for the last 35 years. At the age of sixty I had accrue mayo cardiac infarction and under went angiogram and found 3 blocks in the arteries. Had cabg and put 3 bypass and under medication. After six months of the surgery I had another minor heart attack and done angiogram and found two blocks in the bypass and put two stents. Recent echo results shoes 60% of the heart muscle is damaged and 40% only in good shape. Heart pumping is slow and pulse rate is 40 to 45 per minute only. Now I am having constant angina and taking medications for the heart, hypertension and diabetes. Medicines taking daily Rand 500 two times Imdur 70 one Clopidogrel 75 one Ecosprin 150 one Metolar XR 25 one amlopres 5 two atorlip 20 one Amaryl 1 mg two Januvia 50 one Losar H 50 mg one Losar 25 mg one Lan 30 one Blood test results are normal cholesterol, lever function, kidney function, psa and urine analysis. HBA1C 6.1 Now Dr. Said as per the recent echo test heart muscle is thinned and enlarged little and this caused slowdown the pumping. Any other treatment I should take to prevent the heart from further damage. Please. Advise.

First confirm that your blood sugar and blood pressure is under control, heart rate is regular. Then do an ECG. See if you have breathlessness. If you have constant anginal chest pain, Ramipril, a bets blocker such as Meyoprolol in slowly incremental doses. But you should consult a cardiolgist urgently in this regard.
