My gynecologist has suggested to take contrapill kit for abortion of five week pregnancy. She suggested to take mifepristone with water and after 48 hours, 2 tablet of misoprostol orally. But I am confused and forgot to ask from my gynecologist that, should I swallow misoprostol with water or to take it sublingual or buccally? What's best option to take misoprostol?

hi since u r staying at home. Drink it with water. Dont use sublingual or buccual
however all these 3 routes work

Without confirming pregnancy kit has no value.
Mostly must be period, wait and observe.
Any doubt get blood test done serum HCG-Beta.

Get ultrasound done
Don't take oral pills for more than a year at a stretch
It's right to know about after effects of pills when the woman is wanting a baby
The effects of hormones present in the pills take sometime, maybe few months to wane
But pregnancy is not affected if other reasons are not present.

My friend is 37 days pregnant, she has taken the contrapill kit. After taking the dosage she had cramps, diarrhea and less vaginal bleeding but on the next day she dont have any cramps and no bleeding, is there problem in complete abortion. She is worried whether she has complete abortion or not. What she will do now, please consult her.

Anytime when termination of pregnancy is done by mifepristone+ misoprostol (which are contents of contrapill) confirmation of complete abortion must be done by ultrasonography 14 days after treatment whatever may be amount of bleeding.

mifegest kit should be taken under supervision of a doctor,and prior to taking it ultrasound should be done to confirm the duration and location of pregnancy.

lybrate-user, before advising you, wanted to ask if you got an ultrasound done, to rule out for ectopic pregnancy ,but since you already have initiated the process, you may take two misoprostol pills at 11 pm in night and observe for what you pass out, and again the remaining two tabs after 24 hrs only if required.

Drugs for termination of pregnancy can be taken only under the supervision of doctors licensed for termination, so meet gynecologist.
