Pregabalin is very unlikely to cause urinary retention. Considering your age, you should rule out prostate hypertrophy and other urinary tract obstruction. Get an ultrasound of the abdomen along with the post void residue. Consult an urologist after the ultrasound.

Hello Mr. lybrate-user, though it is advisable to reduce the dose of pregabalin in renally impaired patient, but 25 mg /day is quite a reduced dose (normal available dose is 75 mg/day). So you can have it safely if prescribed by a physician.

Thanks for your query. You can get a cbc (complete blood count) along with liver function tests (lft). This will help ascertain whether there have been any long term consequences due to alcohol intake. Please feel free to ask a private question if you have any doubt.

This is an old concept that drinking two beers a day has health benefit.
There is no scientific evidence to this.
Alcohol consumed in any form and any amount is harmful for the body.
The effects may be seen early or late but are harmful.
It can cause irreversible brain and liver damage.
Hope this info is useful for you.
Thanks.

Yes there is a problem. Alcohol itself is a problem and you are having more than required. Year by year nothing will change or you may not notice any change but then suddenly you will start having symptoms. It can lead you to develop fatty liver ultimately leading to liver cirrhosis. Its advised you either cut down or leave it cold turkey. Consult with a psychiatrist for medication if you have developed an addiction. Medicine will help you quit alcohol and also manage you withdrawal symptoms.more
