The fda has approved three drugs to treat fibromyalgia: the antidepressants duloxetine (cymbalta) and milnacipran (savella), plus the anti-seizure medicine pregabalin (lyrica). But your doctor may prescribe other drugs that aren't specifically approved for fibromyalgia.

Dear lybrate-user,
1st of all. Congratulation for baby girl.
Pregabalin can have some effects as its little amount is secreted in breast milk. So better to stop or change the medication.

There is no time limit as such. U may take calcium d3 whenever you need. If you have neuropathic pain or nerve compression only then take pregabalin otherwise it should not be taken.

Pregabalin is very unlikely to cause urinary retention. Considering your age, you should rule out prostate hypertrophy and other urinary tract obstruction. Get an ultrasound of the abdomen along with the post void residue. Consult an urologist after the ultrasound.

Hello Mr. lybrate-user, though it is advisable to reduce the dose of pregabalin in renally impaired patient, but 25 mg /day is quite a reduced dose (normal available dose is 75 mg/day). So you can have it safely if prescribed by a physician.
