A few suggestions to help your Father feel better. Apply turmeric in ghee on lips to keep them soft and clear the infection in natural way.
Add coconut oil in his diet. About 2 big spoons. This will help reduce the heat caused from meds. Help soften bowel movement and also keep his digestion proper. Hi,
these symptoms are suggestive of nerve root compression most commonly caused by a intervertebral disc prolapse. Since this is acute presentation working diagnosis will be acute ivdp. So treatment includes conservative which includes analgesics and rest for 1 or 2 weeks. If no improvement a mri need to be taken and operative treatment can be thought of for a faster pain relief.

Please check her body weight, blood pressure and serum creatinine. Muscle pain could be a part of neuropathy and if there is stiffness relaxants like baclofen or tizanidine could help.
Non opioid pain medication like tramadol which is safe in diabetes could be added to paracetamol. Burning sensation may respond to medications like gabapentin, carba...more

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Usually when diabetes is present for a long time (number of years), it does lead to certain long term complications like peripheral neuropathy. This happens even with fairly good glucose control. If control is not very good then symptoms tend to increase, which include numbness, tingling and even pain.
The glucose levels mentioned (FBG 120 mg & PP 249 mg) are not showing good control. Good control means FBG < 100 mg & PP 150 to 170 mg and HbA1c% <6...more
