Ask your Dr. whether you can add a beta blocker like atenolol in a dose like 50 mg once daily or make present medicine from 20 to stronger dose. Later minipress may be reduced.

Hi lybrate-user you have raised a very interesting question. Yes Prazosin is being used as an agent to treat trauma/PTSD related night mare but not in simple nightmares. My father-in-law expired on 26.06. 2014 due to multi -organ failure. One insurance agency in his name and myself work to procure business. But after his demise I didn't disclose the fact to the insurance company & I continue till date every time fearing that the matter could be divulged and I could be in danger. From this fear I have lost everything I have been loosing wt from 73 kg to 57 kg, I have lost confidence, I have lost my conjugal life & I am afraid of hampering my job as I am an employee of insurance co. I am suffering from amnesia and loss of appetite. I am a diabetic patient n used to take insulin human mixtard 30/70 14 units a day. I was arrested by akd in 2010 august n after 13 dialysis my kidney reversed n started functioning and presently under care of Dr. Lalit k agarwal. I want to come down my tension for that I usually intake tab. Stressnil. 25 a day. Pl suggest me the way to become normal and to return to my normal conjugal life as I have been suffering from erectile problem for the last one year or so. My regular medicines are human mixtard 30/70 14 units bbf, lipicuretg, minipress xl 2.5, stressnil 0.25, shelcal 500, autrin, a to z vitamin, nurokind d3, serta-50 & 9pm eyedrop as for glocoma for which 5% vission has been lost. Apart from this I have cataract in rt. Eye and lumber spondylosis for which I am using belt at office hrs. I am 57 yr old n ex-athlete & 1st divn. Cricket player. I have married in 1992 and only daughter of 21 yrs along with my wife. I blatantly want to be cured and also return to my normal life. My mother in law is suffering from high blood pressure since many years. Her Age - 48 yrs. Weight - 65 kg. Her uterus was removed 10 years back. Her gall bladder was removed many years back. She had undergone many medical tests. Everything came out normal. She is taking so many medicines. But still sometimes her blood pressure shoots up. Since last couple of days its 180/100. She is feeling uneasiness, lethargic, weakness, neck pain all most all the time. She is self employed. Lives alone. Husband passed away long time back. Daughter married. She is taking Amtas 5 mg, Telday H 80 mg, Zabesta 2.5 mg, Aztolet (10+75), Minipress XL 10 mg, Rablet IT, Thyrox 75 mcg, CCM tab every day. Her Blood Urea & Creatinine Serum Creatinine 0.9 mg/dL, Urea Serum 20 mg/dL. FREE T4 - Serum 16.01 pmol/L. TSH Serum 4.38. Metanephirines 633.3 (24 hrs urine sample). Potassium- Serum 4.4. Sodium- Serum 131. Glucose-Plasma (Fasting) 91. Vitamin D Total- Serum 16. Her CT 128 Cardiac Angio was done. Findings- Normal. Aldosterone-Serum 13.90. CT Scan of whole abdomen (specially adrenal gland) was done. Fundings- No Adenoma, No Pheochromocytoma. Patchy calcification of hepatic parenchyma seen-likely, healed granuloma. Bilateral non obstructing renal calculi (at lower pole). No adrenal SOL identified. Stone found in left kidney.
