All the drugs presently used in treating diabetes are quite safe including pioglitazone.
In a well controlled person fasting glucose should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% < 6.8%. So please see that these levels are achieved. Thanks.

Dear Lybrate user, I understand that you have been doing quite a bit of research on the medications, but I just want to make one correction. You are right about pioglitazone, but not the glimepiride whose main function is to stimulate insulin production from the pancreas and not to reduce insulin resistance. Plus already there are multiple oral drugs like Glimiperide, Metformin, Acarbose, Vildagliptin & Pioglitazone. WHich means the whole oral range is there. I have a short term memory how can be I normal. I am a student doing PG and im facing a big problem.
Dear Lybrate user, At your age, Memory problems like amnesia are not common. Many young people are having problems with memory. These problems are either they are too busy or due to anxiety and stress. Busy people use organizers or employ a personal assistant because they can't remember every task.
