Your Dr. has given you ipt (isoniazid preventive therapy and Dr. must have ruled out active tb before giving you ipt). Isoniazid prevents latent tb infection in to developing in to active tb (disease with signs and symptoms) as its 10 times more common to get active tb in hiv pos pt than in non hiv pos pt.
