So, you're currently taking basal bolus with a dpp4-i. For some reason you're the doctor has not put you on metformin or other medications. Your weight is bound to go up since you're on insulin. I'd suggest you to get your blood workup done and visit a nearby diabetologist/endocrinologist to help you better.

Both the products are same. The er refers to extended release, which means the drug is released slowly over 12 hours in the gut. That helps maintain a longer therapeutic level. It is beneficial more so if a person has any side effects like gastrointestinal disturbances if plain metformin is taken. Both are fine. Thanks.

Follow this 1. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 2. Don't overeat 3. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. U should eat whatever your mother or grandparent eat in bfast. Mr. Lybrate-user, with 10.8 hba1c%, your diabetes is totally uncontrolled. It is clear that current treatment is not enough, it has to be upgraded. In fact with such high hba1c% you have to be shifted on to insulin injections. Unless rapid control is achieved, you are likely to invite all the long term complications. Thanks.
