Hello, thanks for the query.
The tablet mentioned is to be taken for treating diabetes for quite a long time. Because diabetes is going to go away after 16 days. Since no other information is guven like fasting, pp glucose & hba1c%, no further comments can be made. If you have developed diabetes then treatment has to be continued for life time. If you have any questions please come back with all the necessary details. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. Your blood glucose levels and hba1c% are quite well controlled. Pp glucose can be a bit lower, which can be managed by diet control and additional exercise. Therefore, unlees all the information is made available it s difficult to give any opinion. However, your glucose levels are fair...more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
All the drugs presently used in treating diabetes are quite safe including pioglitazone.
In a well controlled person fasting glucose should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% < 6.8%. So please see that these levels are achieved. Thanks.

Dear Lybrate user, I understand that you have been doing quite a bit of research on the medications, but I just want to make one correction. You are right about pioglitazone, but not the glimepiride whose main function is to stimulate insulin production from the pancreas and not to reduce insulin resistance.
