Metformin is a safe drug to be used in diabetes because chances of hypoglycemia are very less with it.
Pioz (Pioglitazone) is another drug used to control blood sugar with different mechanism.
Usually second drug is added when blood sugar is not controlled with diet restrictions, regular exercise and single medicine.

JARDIANCE can be taken along with many common type 2 diabetes medications, such as metformin, sulfonylurea, pioglitazone, and insulin. Tablet gluconorm 500sr is containing only 500 mg of metformin in sustained release form. Where as the gluconorm pg2 contains glimiperide 2 mg and pioglitazone 15 mg. The second tablet must have been prescribed because the blood glucose levels are not in control. Thanks.
