I took emergency contraceptive pill (postinor 2-levonorgestrel) on 11th august. My periods was on 1st-5th august, and I had sex on 11th august. According to the app my I have a cycle of 31 days with 5 days bleeding. Therefore the expected date of my next period was on last days of august. However I got my periods on 26thaugust (5 days before the expected period). And my period blood is lighter compared to the previous times. This is my second time using the ecp (first use on 27th june, and I had normal periods, on the expected days). Right now im on the second day of my periods and my flow is light, is this normal? Can you have bleeding while pregnant? I do know that there could be red spots from implantation bleeding. Thank you.

It can be withdrawal bleeding because of emergency contraceptive pill. The chances of pregnancy are almost nil after withdrawal bleeding.

Once pregnancy test is positive, combination doesn't work. For combination to work, it needs to be started during periods and then taken regularly.

Hello, You have read it wrong. Option 72 is an emergency contraceptive pill levonorgestrel which needs to be taken within 72 hrs post sex to avoid pregnancy.

Hi, I had my period on april 14th. Following month after having an intercourse I took contraceptive pills on 9th may and I had my withdrawal bleeding on 15th may. Again I had an intercourse with my partner on 30th may and took the contraceptive pill. Basically I took 2 contraceptive pills during the same month after an intercourse twice while my menstrual circle is yet to come. Am I going to be pregnant? Is there any chance?

By contraceptive pill I hope you mean i-pill or unwanted 72 containing levonorgestrel. It is supposed to be taken after every act of unprotected intercourse within 72 hours of intercourse. So chances of pregnancy are less. However I suggest you to use other mode of contraception rather than using it frequently.

She is likely to become pregnant, because ovulation could have taken place by 14 to 16th day. 70% of sperms will be there in the pre-ejaculatory secretions. Do a urine pregnancy test, to exclude pregnancy.

I am a 22 year old woman. I am just curious that I must have consumed around 6-7 emergency contraceptive pills in the last 10 months. But I do realize that it shouldn't be consumed so often and hence am careful now. But does this mean that those pills have already done the damage to my body and reproductive system? Hello! There are no long term studies on the effects of multiple consumptions of levonorgestrel 1.5 over a period of time. It should be okay though as per the research at this time, but you ought to be more careful now, there are other methods of contraception too!
