My exposure happened on 5th september with prostitute where my condom broke and I took pep within 72 hours and after completing pep I took rna pcr test on 23rd oct (48th day from exposure and 17th day after complete pep) test result non detected and after few days in december (104th day from exposure and 74th day after pep completion) I took western blot all bands are absent. And on 26 january I took hiv duo combo after 143 days after exposure and 118th day after pep completion test result came out negative. Now my question is am I hiv negative? And pep stop seroconversion for a while? Or antigens not detected due to pep? Or its conclusive?

Hi I have started pep for unprotected sex after 56 hours of exposure. Will it prevent hiv? After taking pep I had regular loose motions and felt weak and nausea. Are these side effects of pep? I am taking kaletra and tenvir.

Yes, it does prevent in most of the cases. Yes, side effects. It is not good idea to use PEP frequently.

Taken pep for 13 days only and discontinued. After 28 days of exposure which is 15 days after discontinuing pep. Tested with hiv DNA PCR and p24 antigen and antibodies both tested negative. Is it conclusive? Or 13 day pep effects my results.

It was wrong strategy to stop PEP at 13 days.
You will need tests at 90 days - HIV, HBsAg and VDRL.

The basic answer to your concerns is no, HIV cannot be transmitted by a contaminated razor. HIV is an extremely weak virus and dies once exposed to the air. It cannot live outside the body. Sharing razors is generally not considered good hygiene for the same reasons as sharing a tooth brush or eating utensils.

NO. PEP is needed when there is unprotected sexual contact or contact of infected body fluids with other persons open wounds, or mucosa.
If there has been NO contact of her blood, or her vaginal fluids with the wound, there is nothing to worry
If there has been such contact, take PEP.

Certainly not, till date. But PEP is recommended in occupational (means health care personnel) exposure cases, to be started as early as possible. By 48 hrs the virus reaches the lymph nodes&dissemination starts.
