in case of tetanus vaccination one shot of tetanus toxoid is good for 5 years and you need not take any tetanus vaccine again if the wound is minor and not infected however the extra techniques dose will not cause any Harm To You

If your grandmother is not hiv positive or hepatitis b/c positive you don't need to worry. If you had a tetanus toxoid injection during past 5 years you don't need a dose. What you need to work upon is your weight because you are very obese.

Hi, thanks for your query.
Since you already had taken a tetanus toxoid inj. Recently, there is no need for a booster dose. If the wound isn't too deep and it's clean get a regular dressing done or if manageable with a bandage, use it. If the wound is contaminated or the cut was by an unclean instrument chance of infection is present. In such a case it would be advisable to start a antibiotic like amoxicillin. Try to use pentavac according to latest recommendations. Pentaxim is not banned but yes few studies still quote efficacy less as compared to pentavac. Nd there s nothing like painless actually.

Hello lybrate-user. First of all I want to make it clear to you that there is no absolutely painless vaccine. Every vaccine, whether large or small needle is used, has to be given by prick only. And this will surely cause some pain for your baby. Inj. Pentaxim consists of DPT, IPV and Hib. 5 components. It has not been available for quite some time now.
