Itopride is comparatively safe, but both are not safe for long term use. Medications should be used for prescribed duration only. If symptoms recurrs after stopping medication you need evaluation once. Along with medications, lifestyle modification is important. Avoiding foods which increase reflux like sweets, chocolates, soft drinks, oily foods, tea, coffee, heavy meals. 2-3 hrs gap after eating food before lying down. Head end elevation while sleeping.

Hello,

Thanks for your query on Lybrate

"As" per your clinical query is concerned pantoprazole 40mg once a day is enough but you can add any OTC antacid[Gelusil] to neutralize acidity in your stomach.

Pantop dsr contains pantoprazole and domperidone
piltop dsr contains rabeprazole and domperidone
both belong to the same class of drugs called ppi.
Rabeprazole is found to be more effective.
It is fine to take piltopdsr if you cannot find pantop dsr.

I am 26 year old male. I have no appetite and am having urge to vomit or have vomited daily. I have a burning and uneasy feeling at morning which usually goes away with vomit or around noon without vomiting. There's no blood in vomit but feels like acid. Its been a month or more. I also am underweight. I am 5'10" and weigh ~52 kgs. I found some ayurvedic medicine to increase appetite. And had it for around 2 years. My appetite was better. But I stopped having it after I had suspicion that it contained steroids (no proof). After few days I started vomiting and had lost appetite. On hospital/lab check up some starred results were: on april 27: haemogram: neutrophil: 80, lymphocyte: 16, monocyte: 00, mch: 35.6, mchc: 38.8 lft: total bilirubin: 0.7, d.bilirubin: 0.4, sgpt: 52 whole abdomen ultrasound showed mild fatty liver (grade i) returned home with pantoprazole and domperidone. But vomiting didn't stop so went for another lab checkup on may 5: lft reports were fine. Sgpt was 30 endoscopy showed superficial gastroduodenitis. Returned home with same medicines. Other lab tests done at june 24 hematology: mchc: 36.5 others ok due to suspicion of steroids friends suggested hormone level checkup acth: 46.9 cortisol: 17.64 thank you.
