Its better to continue tazloc. You can go for aggressive lifestyle modifications like walk for 45 minutes daily and less of oily things rice and sugar and more of vegetables and fruits for control of bp.

Yes it is time that you should be concerned about what is the actual problem that is causing all these symptoms for your mom. These symptoms can be either due to heart or kidney, but for that we need to get her investigated. You should get the following tests done - RFT, Lipid Profle, LFT, ECG and a good Echo and the consult a cardiologist near you or you can take her to cardiologist and then get a proper evaluation done.

Blood pressure is a tendency - not a disease. It gives rise to diseases- heart diseases, kidney diseases, stroke - can all happen with high blood pressure. The medicine is to control your bp and please remember that once your tendency of high bp has developed then it will remain for life. Hence to curb this tendency - the medicine is to be taken for life.

lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query.
Madam I have seen the details, which are not complete. You have mentioned only about thyroxine dosage (62.5 mcg), but there is no mention of tsh levels. Because when you on treatment for hypothyroidism, with adequate dose, tsh should be maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l. Plus there is also no mention of your bp readings, so there is no way to comment.
I am unable to understand how some doctor can say that thyroxine and telmisartan are causing the proble...more

My wife had uncontrolled urine problem, especially in winter. She is diabetic, mild hypertensive and on telmisartan (telday 40) and metformin. We visited our diabetes doctor and he suggested to do sonography. Sonography reported 'renal parenchyma the doctor then suggested urine test. The urine test showed high protein. The blood test showed uric acid in blood. The doctor suggested febustat 40 tabs. We went to nephrologist. He prescribed telmisartan 40 mg. He said go to urologist. We found that there is nothing like urologist but all are uro surgeons. We went to uro surgeon, who said go back to nephrologist. There is nothing from his side to explain or prescribe as he is surgeon. This is not surgical case. Ridiculous. I want to know why there is uric acid in the blood? Is it related to some kidney problem or anything else? I also need to know what is the remedy to permanently stop uric acid high levels? Febustat is symptomatic relief. This cannot be stopped as after stopping the blood report goes back to positive uric acid. Also let me know if there is any such speciality as urologist or uro surgeon himself is called urologist.

Urologist and uro surgeon are same.
High uric acid is not only due to kidney problem. Uric acid is produced as a byproduct of purine metabolism and is normally found in blood. It is excreted by kidneys. High uric acid in blood may be due to its overproduction or may due to inability of kidneys to excrete it.
Fabuxostat is a medicine prescribed commonly to reduce uric acid in blood.
Your description is not clear.

Ten days, or earlier. Measure BP only once every two weeks after resting for ten minutes. Excessive BP measurement won't help your health.
