Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. Your diabetes appears to be in some control. Ideally at your age fbg should be < 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg (whih you have) & hba1c% < 6.5%.
Bp is also well controlled, which is quite good. However, one major issue is with a bmi at 37 kg/sq meter you are already in grade 2 obesity and probably going towards morbid level. You have an excess 33 plus kg. This can affect your tgl & ldl as well as blood glucose. If you plane to cut...more

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
I have seen the query. However, there is no mention of how the glucose levels are controlled. It is essential to know fasting & pp levels as well as hba1c% before any comment can be made or any suggestion is given. As regards dapagliflozin and vildagliptin+ metformin combination usage, both these (dapagliflozin & vildagliptin) are totally different drugs. One can not be substituted for the other. Mode actions are totally different. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.
Both jardiance (dapagliflozin) and canagliflozin have similar action as both belong to sglt - 2 inhibitor class of drugs. May I know the reason for changing from one to the other? If your physician has recommeded it then you may do so. Please give why the change is intended. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
There are different medicines available for treating diabetes, which includes older drugs like Glimiperide, metformin cobinations, some DPP - IV inhibitors and many types of insulins. Some newer drugs like Degludec Insulin and Dapagliflozin are definitely more (very) expensive. Some doctors prefer those because there is a feeling that these drugs give better control or at times influenced by pharma companies. Since you are already under the treatment b any altern...more

This medication is a combination of 2 drugs: dapagliflozin and metformin. It is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function
It is very good drug which drugs are taking already

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. Please let me know your fasting, after food glucose levels & hba1c%. If you are able to control blood glucose with insulin & istamet, then one can look at dropping dapagliflozin 10 mg. Since non of the necessary details are given it is difficult to comment or give any suggestions. Please come back with following information: fasting, pp glucose, hba1c%, dietary details, extent of daily exercise & lipid profile. Preferably in a p...more

1. Martifur Mr. 100 (nitrofurantoin) is a good antibiotic and no need to use levofloxacin. 2. Drink plenty of fluids and re evaluates blood sugars and glycemic control. 3. If he is on sglt2 inhibitor drugs (canagliflozin, dapagliflozin, and empagliflozin) for diabetes, it can cause recurrent uti. 4. If he has recurrent uti, get urine culture and sensitivity for definitive treatment.
