Dear Mr. lybrate-user,
azeflo is a combination of an antihistamine and a low dose steroid. Otrivin is a very powerful decongestant. They work differently and are used for different purposes. You should consult an ent surgeon to better understand your symptoms and get the appropriate treatment. Otrivin is not recommended for use for more than 5-7 days as it can cause a lot of other problems in time.
Hope this answers your question
best wishes.

Decongestant sprays like nasivion or otrivin are available over the counter but can be extremely harmful. Please read to avoid. Most dnss contain oxymetazoline (afrin and generic brands). Please Use drop Maximum for 10 days. Otherwise you will suffer from rhinitis medicamentosa. If you have HTN then use saline nasal drop as xylometazoline drop can raise your BP.

Depends I the concentration of the xylometazoline and how many times have given it. If given once or twice no harm. If given repeatedly can cause problems.

Otrivin (or other topical nasal decongestant) is not a very good medicine. I know it gives immediate relief but on long term use it has side effect (rhinitis medicamentosa) leading to persistent nasal obstruction for which it is used.

Hello there,
for cough, take 2-2 teaspoonful of pranacharya kasantak by mixing it in hot water twice daily. Sitopaladi, praval and tankan bhasm churna taken with honey can also bring relief. Consume this 3 to 4 times a day for relief from dry cough; you can also drink tea with basil leaves or add ginger and black pepper in it.
Salted hot water gargling also helps. And stay away from cold drinks and don't take milk when having cough.
