It has long been established that the kind of food you intake and the way you prepare it go a long way in deciding your digestive and overall health. A person is always advised to have a filling breakfast, a moderately elaborate lunch, but a beggar's dinner. This kind of balanced diet helps the person to live a healthier life.

The following points will help you to have a healthy dinner facilitating your wellbeing:

  1. Opt for a broth instead of something greasy and oily - If you plan to cook veggies on a pan, chuck the idea of using oil. Oily and greasy food should be your last dinner option. Excess oil not only complicates digestive processes, but it also interferes with your regular sleep patterns. The next solution available is to use vegetable broth in place of oil. Pieces of lean meat or diced vegetables steamed in some broth can make a yummy meal indeed.
  2. Try avoiding dairy products after sundown - It is hard for your body to break down dairy products, such as full cream milk or cheese at night. Dairy products are also fattening. It would be best to have these in the day. Contrary to popular belief, milk is not an essential part of an adult's diet. It is inevitable in your growing age. To fulfil one's bodily requirement of calcium without causing extra pressure on the digestive system, a generous helping of plain yogurt can be had with dinner.
  3. Drink water before you start with your meal - Water kills your ability to overeat. Many tend to drink soda or carbonated drinks alongside lunch or dinner; this is a bad practice. One may sip on to water while eating a meal, but that too in moderation. You should drink water before sitting at the dining table; this way you can successfully prevent yourself from overeating.
  4. Spices can actually help - Spice is not a vice. Spices bring added flavor to your food and subject you to the benefits of natural products. May it be a soup, broth or a salad; adding spices can prove to be effective. Cinnamon and turmeric can actually protect you against a host of diseases. Garlic fights off cancer. Using ginger to cook your dinner can also be extremely helpful.
  5. Whole grains pave your way to good health - Instead of having refined grains you should go in for whole grains. Whole grains are rich in fibre and fill you up for a longer span of time. Fibre can come to your aid if you suffer from chronic constipation as it is known to stimulate bowel movements.

The thyroid gland is a small butterfly-shaped gland located at the base of the neck. This gland is responsible for regulating metabolism by releasing thyroid hormones. The underproduction or overproduction of these hormones could affect every aspect of an individual’s health. One of the minerals affected by the functioning of the thyroid gland is calcium.

Calcium is a very important mineral for the human body. It not only builds a strong skeletal structure but also helps with muscle contractions, blood clotting and regulates enzyme levels. The thyroid gland and the parathyroid gland are directly responsible for calcium regulation in the body. This is done through the calcitonin hormone. This hormone is released by the thyroid gland. Calcitonin helps regulate the calcium levels in the blood and keeps it from accumulating in the bloodstream.

Because of the important role played by calcium in our bodies, calcium supplements are the easiest way to maintain the calcium levels in the body. However, for patients suffering from hypothyroidism, this may not be a good idea. Calcium supplements can interfere with thyroid medication such as levothyroxine. Instead, calcium can be sourced from the food being eaten.

Milk is not the only food group that provides calcium to the body. Some of the other foods that you could get calcium from include:

  1. Beans: All legumes are a great source of calcium. Of these, winged beans have the highest concentra5tion of calcium. One cup of winged beans can give the body up to 24% of its required amount of calcium.
  2. Fish: Fish such as sardines and salmon are great sources of calcium. Between these two types of fish, sardines have more calcium. These can be eaten fresh or tinned.
  3. Cheese: Parmesan cheese has the highest concentration of calcium. However, all other types of cheese contain calcium as well. As a rule of thumb, soft cheese has a lower amount of calcium as compared to hard cheese.
  4. Seeds: Seeds are a powerhouse of nutrition. One of the minerals, these tiny seeds are rich in is calcium. one tablespoon of sesame seeds has 9% calcium while one tablespoon of poppy seeds has 13% calcium.
  5. Yoghurt: Yogurt is a rich source of probiotics and calcium. One cup of yoghurt a day can give the body up to 30% of its calcium requirements. This includes full-fat yoghurt as well as low-fat yoghurt. Greek yoghurt also contains calcium but in a lower concentration as compared to regular yoghurt.

Neck Pain - How To Get Rid Of It?

Concentrated pain in the neck can be especially tormenting. Before you look for a cure for this pain and start treating it, it is important that you try and find out the underlying cause behind it as well. Contacting a physiotherapist in time will allow you not only to avoid any and every side effect posed by neck pain, but also assist you to get good riddance from it.

Causes of Neck Pain:
There can be multiple causes of neck pain. The treatment of the same depends wholly on the factor that is causing the pain. Some of these causes of neck pain include

  1. Misaligned hips,
  2. Misaligned Spine,
  3. Misaligned shoulders,
  4. A constantly forward-tilted head,
  5. Lack of movement of the head from one specific position,
  6. Tensing up of the muscles in the upper back,
  7. Tensing up of the muscles in the neck region, etc.
  8. It is all these factors and a few more that end up resulting in stiffening of muscles in and around the neck and causing you intermediate to unbearable pain.

Side effects of neck pain:

Exercises for neck pain:
Neck exercises are a predominant part of the treatment extended by every physiotherapist, to cure neck pain. Some of the most vital and effective exercises for neck pain are listed below.

  1. Frog: Funny as it way sounds, the frog is one of the best exercises when it comes to treating neck pain. All you have to do is lie down on the floor with your knees apart, your feet joined, your hands laid upward on the floor at a 45-degree angle to your body and just stay there in that position for two minutes. This will force your back to arch naturally, slowly giving some relief to your neck.
  2. Sitting floor: Try sitting floor for neck pain. All you have to do is sit straight with your back rested on a wall, with your legs laid straight forward. Bring together your shoulder blades and bend to help them meet your knees while curling the toes outward to optimal. Stay in this position for a good 3 minutes, without bending the legs.
  3. Static wall: Lie down on the floor with your bottom against a wall and your legs up it. You can always scoot back a bit if there is the slightest of discomfort. The aim here is to help the tail bone lie comfortably on the floor. Tighten your thigh muscles but curling your toes outward and pointing your feet straight out from its previous position. Maintain this position for 3 minutes for maximum effect.
  4. Static back: The static back is the most common and most helpful exercise for neck pain. All you got to do is lie down on the floor, while placing your legs on an elevated surface, such as an ottoman or a chair at a 45-degree angle to your body. Now put your arms at an angle of 45 degrees to your body as well, only sideways on your shoulder. Follow this position by lifting your palms and staying in that position for five to ten minutes.

All these exercises are aimed to positively influence one muscle or the other in and around the neck region and to help you get rid of that pain. Consult a physiotherapist first, and he/she will advise you on the best neck pain exercises.

I am a diabetic patient of 67 years old. I am suffering from ed from last 10 years. Also I have lv diastolic dysfunction. My bp is 120/80. My hba1c is 8.2. Fbs 130 pp 257, there is acidity and sleeplessness. My doctor prescribed me gemer ds4 before breakfast, oxramet xr 10/1000, before lunch, cyra d before breakfast, lonazep1, at bed time, rozustat asp after dinner, telista mt 50 after breakfast and tazzle5 after dinner daily. Now I like to ask that is tazzle5 can be taken daily?

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details given and have following observations: 1) your hba1c% is too high. Ideally in a well controlled diabetic patient fasting glucose should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% < 6.8%. 2) you are already taking 8 mg of glimiperide, which too high. Usually the recommended dose is not exceed 4 mg per day. 3) still the control is not good. There is a need to upgrade the treatment. 4) tadanafil is meant to be taken as and when one wants to have a contact. So not recommended every day. If you have any questions please do come back.

no... treatment depends on the grade...Acne or pimples... Due to hormonal changes..Oily skin causes it...Common in adolescent age...May occur in adults also.. Food like Oily foods, ice cream, chocolate and sweets increase it.. Sagging skin can come about due to sudden and drastic weight loss, as well as the advancement of age. The supple quality of the skin is gradually lost to age as the skin becomes less firm and tight and begins to sag in certain areas. The skin loses collagen and elasticity which holds the connective tissue together, as we lose weight and begin to age. Also, constant exposure to harsh weather conditions including extreme heat or cold can make the skin sag. Further, sagging skin can also point towards poor lifestyle choices. All this makes the skin appear less firm.

I have a mole that came off after I scratched it. It peeled off bit by bit. Use coconut oil or milk cream instead. Massage it two to three times daily. Do not use creams and ointments. Yo will notice change within a week. If the burning still continues share a picture of the affected area. Medical aid will be suggested.

You have to reduce the weight by walking minimum 3-4 kms per day. Slowly reduce the weight and slowly avoid adding salt in the diet which will help you to prevent water retention in the body. Excess salt in general leads to water in the body which might be the reason for you legs to pain as the leg will automatically become oedematous.
