Diabetes is the result of weakness of pancreas to metabolize sugar intake. You have to take medicines life long./ you can add onglyza 5 mg in the morning with food and check your fbs, 2 hr ppbs, hba1c and lipid profile and inform me privately. You will be risking your life by changing or reducing tablets. Eventually you may need insulin. Ask privately for personal advice.

Hello, thanks for the query.
The forxiga (dapagliflozin) belongs to a comparatively newer class of drugs called sglt - 2 inhibitors. There are other similar molecules like campagliflozin, canagliflozin. I am not sure if any othese drugs are being considered by the insurance companies. You may check the same. If none of those molecules are covered then doctor may look at dpp - iv inhibitors like saxagliptin, vildagliptin, linagliptin and tenelegliptin as alternative. Thanks.
