That is Reaction to BCG vaccination. For which no need to worry. It shall happen to all kids who are vaccinated against TB by BCG vaccine. However it shall heal after spontaneous rupture by giving little scar. Which is nornal process. If deviates from this then obviously show to your pediatrician.

It is induration and if the injection was BCG it is normal reaction to form a scar. If other injection was given it can be abscess forming and need to drain it when it is forming pus. Give local heat there and watch.

Tuberculosis is a contagious disease and any one can get it and in small toddlers we give bcg vaccination to avoid major form of TB

If you are under Anti Tubercular treatment and sputum for AFB is negative then there is no chance for the child to be affected. Ensure that the new born was given BCG vaccination

I assume baby must have been given bcg
if not open tb no problem, if open consult treating tb specialist.
