Asked for male, 62 years old from Jamshedpur

My bp all of sudden rose to175 by80. Sometimes it comes down to 140 by 80. L was taking start40 and nebicard 2.5.i consulted with doctor who changed my medicine to olmesartan 20 ct and metoprolol prolonged release. My bp came down to124 by 75 but after some time it again rises. To140 by85. Why this is happening and what should I do to control my bp.

I am final year mbbs student. My mother 56 years is diabetic for 10 yrs. Ppbs 230; fbs 130, hba1c 7.7, 24 hr microalbumin 404. receiving insulin past 1 years 30/70 human mixtard. Her bp 160/80 .Diabetic nephropathy with nephrotic range proteinuria. Doctor suggested telmisartan 80 mg with hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Sir my query is hydrochlorothiazide safe in diabetes as it impairs glucose tolerance further and alters lipid profile. Please suggest fluid and protein salt restrictions.

Hi, my fathers age is 55 years. He had an old cna, htn.semi paralytic effect on leg. On 24th august 2019. His treatment is going on. From some he says sometimes cold sensation in left thigh and in calfs. The prescription consists the 4 medicine now. Lacotide 150 mg - bd. Olvance am 20 - bd ecosprin 75/10 av - od nexfolin- od we last visited the doctor kapil aggarwal neurologist 7.12.2019.in that visit he said for r/a 4 month. Now I want to ask. Shall we continue these medicine and how long will these medicines still continue. Is it safe to still continue. As he is now fine not any such complications now he is walking properly and doing daily cough.

I am a bp patient. My bp level is 170/100. Doctor prescribed pinom 40 h in the morning and revelol Xl 50 at night. But on google search it is found that hydrochlorothiazide is a sulpha allergy drug. I am a sulfa allergy patient. Shall I continue h combination or stop. Your advice please. But my doctor says that I can continue. It is a different combination. I have been diagnosed with BP last week with 170/120. My doctor suggested Amlong H 1 Tab (Amlodipine 5 MG Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 MG) in the morning and Amlong 5 mg 1 Tab (S-Amlodipine) in the night. Now my BP is under control. But the worst thing is my legs get swelling during the day and I am getting severe headache which I cannot tolerate. Kindly suggest the alternate medicine.

1.Your blood sugar is under control, continue with metformin tablet
2.Your Bp is not under control. The combination of amlodepine with hydrochlorothiazide is effective in controlling Bp.
3.Continue for some days, reduce your salt intake, control your diet, go for regular exercise.
4.Monitor your BP and if still it is not controlled, consult physician for alternative medicine like Telmasatan with amlodepine

I'm a 49 year old woman who has been suffering from hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, systematic lupus. I'm using sildenafil chloroquine hydrochlorothiazide soluspirin simvastatin enalapril and atenolol. Some day's i'm suffering from headaches, dizziness, light chess pains, heavy leg's and arms and i'm just very tired. All that comes at the same times. My heavy leg's and arms happen almost every day. Clopitorva 20 (atorvastatin 20 mg+clopidogrel 75 mg) 3. Betacap tr 40 (propranolol 40 mg) now he is having swelling in hands and legs. Please suggest does taking propranolol 40 mg cause swelling in body. If yes can he stop the medicine?
