You can review again with the doctor so that the dosage or the medicine itself can be changed. In the meanwhile, spend some time to exercise every day (30 - 40 mins of brisk walking twice a day if possible ). She may be able to reduce medicine when BP is less than 120, both can be taken when needed, keep checking BP weekly or so.

It's important to know the reason for the weakness. Get her CBC, ESR, blood sugar, thyroid test, urine routine etc. Please have a regular follow up with the doctor who already knows about your mothers health status. Starting treatment is ok but you need to rule out secondary hypertension. Some baseline investigations like KFT, urine analysis, usg abdomen, ECG, echocardiography are required.

Consult a cardiologist for review of medications. Also start with lifestyle changes like - 1) daily brisk walking, begin gradually and then increase to 40-45 mins daily 2) Avoid high salt rich food like chips, namkeens, pickles, sauce, chutney. 3) Quit smoking and drinking if you do 4) Eat a heart healthy diet.
