Asked for male, 83 years old from Sagar

83 years old weight 70 kg. Diabetic with resistant blood pressure for over 20 years. Also have sleep apnea last 6 years. With treatment everything under good control. About a year and a half back suddenly my diabetes became normal ,had to stop my medication. This lasted for one month. This has happened two times more with a gap of 3-4 months. This time this started 2 1/2 months back and continuing. I have stopped my medication.in fact this time I am eating a lot of fruits and eats like dosa idli etc. To keep sugar normal. I am a vegetarian except that I take 2 egg whites. I have stage 3 ckd gfr 57 and avoid taking high phosphorus foods. For diabetes I am taking amree plus an ayurvedic medicine. For bp olmesartan 20 mg, cilnidipine 10 mg, moxonodine 0.3 mg, and indipimide 1.5 mg.

This is usual story of long lasting diabetes. As ckd advances blood sugar becomes normal or even low as most of the antidiabetic medicines are excreted through kidney and pt feels that his diabetes is cured and he does not need medicine.
Please take care of your ckd under supervision of a nephrologist.

I am 74 years. On a routine check up (the check up got hampered due to corona scare) the following noticed 1) hb%-12.8 g/dl (minm-13) 2) erythrocyte count-4.45 (minm-4.5 million/ cu. Mm) 3) lymphocyte-17.1%(minm-20%) 4) eosinophil more -6.6%(it should be 6 maxm) 5) pcv-38.8%(minm-40) what is your suggestion although no such urine complication so far. On a routine check up creatinine 1.41 mg/dl, urea 38 mg/dl. I have no diabetes. But blood pressure and cholesterol kept under control by allopathy medicine. Acute insomnia problem I have. Blood pressure and cholesterol under control by medication I take for for bp olmesartan 40 plus hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 for cholesterol atorvastatin 5 plus fenofibrate 72.5 whether any medicine is there to lower creatinine. Please advise.

Nothing is that critical but you need one md physician as creatinine just deranged, eoshinopil also just deranged.
They need regular follow up.

Avoid nsaids repeat creatinine after 2 week have adequate volume of water .not too much don't be so dry as well.
Go for urine routine micro and usg abdomen and kub
check electrolytes, phosphorus.

Health Query

I am 74+. Suffering from allergic rhinitis and occasionally having continuous sneezing. Running nose also starts. I am forced to take atarax 20 mg. But as I take the tablet 3 or 4 days no sneezing or running nose appears. Is it advisable to have such tablet with one interval every 3 or 4 days to remain ok. There is no cough or irritation. The local doctor has prescribed montelukast 10 mg once daily and I am also continuing like that. But occasional continuous sneezing & running nose does not stop until I take one atarax 20 mg at an interval of every 3 or 4 days. I have also htn and taking once daily amlopidine 5 mg with olmesartan medoxomil 40 mg and blood thinner ecosprin 75 daily as per advice of a cardiologist. I am also taking tamsulosin hydrochloride 0.4 mg daily as I have enlarged prostate. Will taking atarax 20 mg at an interval of every 3 or 4 days have bad health effect? What is the alternative?

dry cough is a frequent side effect of ace inhibitors...
u can switch over to arb like olmesartan/telmisarton etc..
these will control ur bp also

Good evening doctor. My bp level is 150/110 pulse rate 90. I am female aged about 42 years. Doctor prescribed olmesar a 40 mg. But hen I purchased the tablet I was given omlesar 40 mg. Now I am hvng slight nose block plus my ankle of the leg paining. Can I follow the same medicine is it giving any side effects y I am getting this ankle and nose block. Kindly advise.

Sir, I am a 60 years old having hypertension patient since 1987 and type 2 diabetic since 2010 without medication now but under control. HB1C last was 6.3. In March 2017 I suffered for a month from irregular angina pain when on advice of a local Dr. I rushed to Bangalore where on angiography was diagnosed 90% blockage in main LA, and on advice from cardiologist got don't Angioplasty/PTCA, STENT fixed. 16 months are over and occasionally I feel discomfort which my Dr. suggested is due to my stressful/tense nature. Medicine still continuing are. METLOR 25- 1 tab after breakfast for BP PLAVIX 75- 1 tab after breakfast ecosprin 75- 1 tab after lunch olmesartan 20- 1 tab after dinner for BP ATORVASTATIN 20- 1 tab after dinner (LDL/HDL under control) NITROFIX SR 30- 1 tab after dinner (cardiologist on follow up after 12 months advised to continue all) Sir, I am veg, non smoker hardly 4-5 hour sound sleep, continuing with morning brisk walk for an hour without discomfort for 4 to 5 days a week.

I have a problem of uncontrolled bp. My doctor has prescribed me following sets of antihypertensive medicines: 1. Olmat mt 20/50 mg (olmesartan 20 mg metoprolol 50 mg) - 1 od2. Moxovas 0.3 (moxonidine 0.3 mg) - 1 bd3. Eslo-5 (s-amlodipine 5 mg) - 1 odi started the above medicines on 16.09.2023. With the help of the above medicines, my bp readings, each taken 3 minutes apart are as under:on 20.09.23 9: 00 am: 153/80, 929: 03 am: 141/68, 8612: 05 pm: 152/73, 7712: 08 pm: 120/66, 7405: 30 pm: 159/77, 7605: 33 pm: 134/70, 71on 23.09.2303: 30 pm: 155/75, 7703: 32 pm: 137/66, 73b. K. Chaubey, 71 year/male in spite of my entering the bp reading correctly, I don't know why some haphazard information is being shown above. Please read these as under: on 20.09.23, at 9 am: 153/80, at 9.03 am: 141/68, at 12.05 pm: 152/73, st 12.08 pm: 120/66, at 5.30 pm: 159/77, at 5.33 pm: 134/70. Today I diagnosed with bp 160/112 at 9 pm. I am using tables olmezest 10 in the morning and olmetime 20 in the night. Should I continue this or should I look for another. Now am in usa for a business trip.

Hi.
Olmezest and Olmetime both have same component (Olmesartan), just different brand.
I wonder why your doctor has written 2 different brand of same medicine.
For the BP you are having, I will suggest taking 20mg both in morning and evening.
